From insulting professional rivals such as Jamie Oliver to contestants on his TV shows – and even a female presenter – Ramsay is no stranger to commenting on someone else’s weight.

THE AUSSIE TV HOST IS ‘A PIG’

Ramsay mistook Tracy Grimshaw as a target of misogynistic abuses in 2009, when he addressed her on Australian television.

At the Melbourne Good Food and Wine Expo, he presented a fake picture of a naked female with multiple breasts and an enlarged pig’s head. He announced that the image was Miss Grimshaw who had interview him earlier in the night.

He said, “That’s Tracy Grimshaw.” He said, “I did an interview yesterday with her. Simon Cowell should see her to get Botox.

Ramsay was criticised by the deputy prime minister of Australia and the prime minister. Ramsay appeared on TV and made a lengthy apology. He stated that it was not a personal attack. This was done with a jokey attitude. My mum was horrified when I called her this morning. My wife would be called a pig if someone called me that.

THE FAT COW RESTAURANT

Ramsay launched The Fat Cow restaurant in LA in 2012 The PR department of Ramsay tried, unconvincingly, to claim that the insult was a lie. They stated that the cow was something that we all eat, but that we don’t enjoy, and that the name of the restaurant was a reference to this.

Ramsay made the comment about Sara Horowitz on Hell’s Kitchen just months prior. He also called her a ‘fat-mouthed stupid little b****’.

THE SCARRED CHEF

Clemenza Cassa was verbally abusing Hell’s Kitchen’s chefs in season 10. He told Clemenza that his white chef’s clothes ‘look like an open tepee’ and that they could be used as sails to cross the Atlantic.

At another point during the show, Ramsay called him a ‘f****** baby rhino’.

Other contestants have been called a ‘chunky monkey’, a ‘big fat sack of p*** and wind’ and a ‘fat, useless sack of Yankee, Dankey, doodle sh***’.

THE KITCHEN NINETIES ‘FAT IOT’

Ramsay was invited by Ramsay to attempt to save The Granary Restaurant in Fareham in Hampshire in 2007. Ramsay called Nigel Nieddu, the owner of The Granary restaurant in Fareham, Hampshire, a fat idiot’ during his appearance.

Nieddu stated that it was “the most stressful week” of his life. It was a stressful week that I wouldn’t do again if given the chance. Never have I ever spoken with someone like that my entire life. It is not a pleasant feeling to be humiliated. My friends call up and laugh about me being called a fat idiot but that’s how I will be known now – I’m the fat idiot from The Granary.’

THE CHEF WHO HAD TROIS HEART ATTACKS

Robert Hesse is Hell’s Kitchen’s executive chef. After suffering stress, he dropped out of one season of the series and then returned the year after.

Ramsay called him a ‘fat ****’ and Hesse, who was obese, had three heart attacks before a gastric bypass which helped him lose more than 30 stone.

MARCO PIERRE WIT

Ramsay had a toxic relationship to Marco Pierre White. He worked for White in Wandsworth at Harveys, south-west London, early in his career. In his autobiography, White stated that White ‘broke Ramsay’ and brought him to tears. Years later, the two men turned up on the same day for lunch at Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck restaurant – and Ramsay criticised White’s weight.

White said Ramsay went up to him and said: ‘You fat b******. That’s what I have always wanted to be called. White said: White, I replied that this was what you are capable of doing. ‘

JAMIE OLIVER

Ramsay hosted the ITV short-lived The Nightly Show for one week in 2017. After his brief stint on ITV, Ramsay read out a joke apology to Jamie Oliver.

It read, “I want to apologize.” Jamie, I’ve been very hard on you.

“I called you fat. I have criticised your restaurants. And called you fat.

Jamie said that I meant to hurt you. You shouldn’t cry. Your cute face is the last thing that I want.

Oliver replied, “I did TV five years prior to him so it wouldn’t have bothered my back.” His four children are older than mine, and I have five. I do not want to be the dad who is shaming kids on television. This is not acceptable.

Ramsay said in 2012 that Oliver ‘needs a f****** good wash’ and added that he wasn’t surprised that his show Food Revolution had been cancelled after two seasons on air in America.

Ramsay stated that Americans need to exercise caution when dictating healthy eating habits to them. Ramsay said, ‘If your body is not in the best of shape, you need to be careful.
