Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins is doubtful for the second Ashes Test as he was named in a Covid case as a close contact.

Australia’s cricket captain Pat Cummins has been named as a close contact of a positive Covid-19 case, casting doubt over whether he’ll play in the second Ashes Test. 

While the 28-year-old was enjoying dinner with another Adelaide cricketer on Wednesday night, a Covid customer at the next table confirmed that it was positive.

Cummins, however, left the restaurant quickly. It’s not known if Cummins will be participating in Thursday’s South Australian match. 

The Age reports that sources claim it is unlikely that the fast-bower will take to the field.

The 28-year-old was dining with another cricketer in Adelaide on Wednesday night when a customer at the next table was confirmed as a positive Covid case

While he was enjoying dinner in Adelaide with another cricketer, the 28 year-old noticed that someone at his next table had confirmed that they were a Covid customer.

Steve Smith will be the captain if Cummins is unable to attend the match due to the scandalous sandpaper-ball-tampering from 2018.

Cricket Australia seems to be racing to find out if Cummins can play.
