It was revealed yesterday that three other women are accusing the Police Federation’s chairman of sexual misconduct.

He is the father to two and represents 130,000 officers in rank-and-file across England, Wales and England.

At the Police Bravery Awards in London, which was attended by top figures from British police, including Dame Cressida and Priti Patel (Home Secretary), he is charged with sexual touching.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct is looking for photographs and videos taken at both the London event and other official gatherings on that day.

It was believed that the victim did not belong to any of the 81 officers who were nominated on this night.

Apter is accused of inappropriately making sexual remarks at a different social event weeks prior.

Between October and November, he is charged with violating professional standards in four instances. Two of these allegations relate to sexual touch while the others concern inappropriate comments made to women.

After receiving allegations by the Hampshire police force, the warrant card of Mr Apter was removed from him by police watchdogs on Monday.

After Hampshire had suspended his suspension, he was immediately removed as the chairman of the Federation.

Before he received a notice for gross misconduct, he tweeted his support of a mental campaign. He said: “We see the worst in humanity but we are expected to leave that behind at the end a shift and then go back to our normal lives.”

Yesterday, Mr Apter removed his social media accounts. In May 2018, he was elected as the chairman of the association for police officers. He announced in October that he would be leaving his post for April.

Although Mr Apter could not be reached yesterday for comment, he was released and has been freed from custody. His home has also been uninspected.

A spokesperson for IOPC stated that the officer received a notice of investigation regarding potential violations of professional standards in police relating to four separate alleged instances.

They were informed that criminal proceedings are being initiated for sexual touching, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
