EU consultants have recalled two e-scooters made by Chinese language agency Kaabo Mantis due to insufficient electrical insulation, and ‘the presence of water within the footboard’s electrical compartment might trigger a brief circuit and begin a fireplace’. 

British security inspectors are understood to be reviewing the merchandise offered right here.

The defective e-scooters value about £1,300. A web-based itemizing warns: ‘This scooter just isn’t waterproof, please don’t journey it in moist circumstances.’

E-scooters had been final month banned from London’s transport community after a number of burst into flames. 

Sarah Gayton, marketing campaign co-ordinator on the Nationwide Federation of the Blind, mentioned: ‘Till they’re banned throughout all transport networks, journey bosses are taking part in Russian roulette with lives.’
