Maxwell was asked by Judge Alison Nathan whether she would give evidence, since she had the right.
Maxwell confidently spoke in an English cut glass accent.
And after just two days and nine witnesses, Maxwell’s defense rested.
Maxwell was being led back into prison after the day ended. Isabel, Maxwell’s sister, was standing in public gallery making a prayer sign.
Maxwell took one at a time with each lawyer before she left the court.

Maxwell’s defense began Friday with an uneven start. It was revealed that Maxwell had one witness refuse to reply to the subpoena. Another said they would be taking the fifth, and Maxwell didn’t have a third.
The defense was able to call witness Dr. Eva Andersson, 60, an internist and former girlfriend of Epstein who is now married to hedge fund billionaire Glenn Dubin. Glenn, 64 was previously charged with having sex in a relationship with Virginia Roberts as a teenager. These allegations were denied by Glenn.
She wore black pants, a black blazer and gray black dresses. Her blonde hair reached her shoulders as she refused to take part in orgies.
Maxwell’s accuser Jane, who was speaking earlier at the trial, claimed that Eva had participated in orgies in Palm Beach with Epstein and other women during the 1990s, when she was just a teenager.
Jeff Pagliuca Maxwell’s lawyer said to Dubin, “I am sorry for asking such questions.” Are you familiar with Jane, the woman we call Jane?
Dubin stated: “Absolutely no.”
Pagliuca asked: “Have you ever been in a group sex massage with Jane?”
Dubin declared: “I don’t have.”
Dubin claimed that Epstein had been with her ‘off-and-on’ since 1983, when she met Maxwell.
Glenn Dubin married her in 1994. However, she said she was friendly with Epstein.
Pagliuca asked Andersson about Epstein’s relationships with her children. Andersson replied that she was.
Pagliuca inquired if Epstein liked her three children. The goddaughter was Epstein. Dubin answered, “Yes he was.”
Dubin answered the question, “They loved Epstein.”
Pagliuca inquired if Epstein was a ‘uncle-like’ relationship with the children and gave him the nickname “F”, apparently for Jeff. Andersson confirmed that it was true.
Dubin was given a list of Epstein’s flight log entries including one that lists her flying with Jane.
Dubin replied, “I don’t recall ever having met this person” when Dubin was asked if she ever remembered meeting Jane.
Dubin is seen in court leaving Friday. He was married to Epstein for 11 year during the 80s. Glenn Dubin (seen leaving court Friday) is Dubin’s husband and hedge fund manager. He has been accused by Dubin of having sex in the teen years with Virginia Roberts.
Friday’s defense allowed Eva Dubin to testify, Epstein’s ex-girlfriend and miss Sweden.
Pagliuca presented Dubin with a photograph that she found in Epstein’s home. She said it showed Epstein’s youngest daughter.
Dubin claimed she’d never seen the picture before, in an instant that seemed to shock defense.
It was possible for the defense to summon witness Dr. Eva Andersson (66) who is an internist, former girlfriend to Epstein, and now married to Glenn Dubin (7, shown together).
Pagliuca asked Dubin during her testimony: “Did any inappropriate conduct occur between Mr. Epstein, any teenage girls?
She responded, “I did not.”
Alison Moe, a cross-examination prosecutor asked Dubin whether she knew if Epstein and Maxwell had been in an open relationship between 1994-192000.
She said, “I can’t really tell if they did” or not.
Dubin stated that her memory was being affected by a condition she didn’t specify. However, she had previously publicly spoken out about a fight with breast cancer.
“It is very difficult for me to recall anything further back,” she said. Sometime I forget things even from the last month.
“My family notices it and so do I. This has been an issue for a while.
Maxwell watched Dubin enter the courtroom and turned her head to look at the door. She then followed Dubin’s steps up the witness box.
Maxwell, who was sitting in her chair during Dubin’s testimony, stared at Maxwell intently.
Dubin looked tense and curt. It was unclear if Dubin was willing to give evidence, or if it was after she had been subpoenaed.
During a 2016 deposition which was revealed publicly for the first time in 2019, Rinaldo Rizzo, a butler for the Dubins, tearfully described seeing a 15-year-old girl in his boss’s kitchen in 2005.
Rizzo claimed that he witnessed a Swedish 15-year old girl being held captive on Epstein’s private Island and used as a slave sex.
Rizzo stated in his deposition, that Maxwell and Epstein brought the girl to their home while they were on vacation with the Dubins.
