Protestors demanded that the Metropolitan Police investigate the Downing Street parties starting December 2013. They screened a Line of Duty spoof video at Scotland Yard, with voiceovers sounding very similar to the star of the show Adrian Dunbar.

Led By Donkeys was a political group that gathered outside of police headquarters to question officers about the incident.

Downing Street is accused of holding four parties that broke Covid restrictions last year, including a quiz attended by dozens of staff and which the Prime Minister helped to host on December 15 – three days before another Christmas party which is being investigated.

Today, the Metropolitan Police said that it received a “significant amount” of correspondence regarding allegations that Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations had been violated by Downing Street between November 2020 and December 2020.

A video, posted by Led By Donkeys on Wednesday and retweeted by Dunbar’s co-star Martin Compston, shows the large screen brandishing LBD-12, standing for Led By Donkeys, in the same style as the BBC hit drama’s AC-12 logo.

Protestors demanded that the Metropolitan Police examine the Downing Street party events from December 2012. They showed a Line of Duty video outside Scotland Yard and a voiceover sounding very like Adrian Dunbar, the show’s star.

A voice, which sounds like Adrian Dunbar, who plays anti-corruption officer Superintendent Ted Hastings in the show, can be heard saying: ‘Ma’am, I must protest.

“Last Week, the senior officers working in this building made a statement saying that they won’t be investigating the illegal Christmas party at Downing Street last December.

As the voice continued, Dame Cressida Dick, chief of Metropolitan Police appears, as the image fades to black.

‘Correct me if I am wrong here ma’am, but the whole purpose of a police inquiry is to gather evidence.

“But your officers refuse to find the evidence, so my team will bring it to Scotland Yard.”

Dunbar previously supported Ireland’s Sinn Fein party. Jed Mercurio (creator of Line of Duty), recently made fun of Boris Johnson following a photo of Johnson in a police uniform.

‘Thank you for submitting your audition for the next series of Line of Duty but we’re looking for a character with at least one redeeming moral principle and a performance that places even just a scintilla of doubt in the audience’s mind that he might not be totally bent,’ Mercurio wrote on his Twitter page after the picture emerged of Mr Johnson observing an early morning raid in Liverpool.

Outside Scotland Yard, the spoof video also shows the Covid restriction rules in December 2020. Downing Street is also alleged to have hosted four events breaking the Covid restrictions including an employee party on December 18.

A voice, which sounds like Adrian Dunbar, who plays anti-corruption officer Superintendent Ted Hastings in the show, can be heard saying: ‘Ma’am, I must protest. The building’s senior officers issued last week an announcement stating they won’t be investigating the illegal Christmas party that was held on Downing Street last December.

The video was played on a large LED screen outside Scotland Yard, the Metropolitan Police's headquarters, on Wednesday

On Wednesday, the video was shown on an LED-lit screen in front of Scotland Yard, headquarters for Metropolitan Police.

The video included a claim from one witness to the alleged party that said 'everyone was packed shoulder to shoulder'

A witness said that “everyone was loaded shoulder to shoulder” in the video.

Prior to this, No10 stated that Downing Street staff were “often required in the office to handle the pandemic response” during lockdowns. Accordingly to No10, those in the office for work’may have attended virtually form their desks.

At the time, it was stated in rules that no one could gather in a Tier-3 area that consists of at least two persons and is located in an indoor space. London was the Tier 3 area at the time.

Video also points to advice from Government that, at the moment, said people’mustn’t have a Christmas party or work lunch, where it is primarily social activity.

The alleged wedding was held a day prior to the party. Metropolitan Police officers closed down the venue because there were 40 guests.

Continue the voiceover in Adrian Dunbar style: “The officers working at this building issued a statement stating that holding large gatherings could make all the difference for someone else.”

They then presented an example of an email that they claim contained a party invite and invited people who didn’t work at Downing Street.

According to them, one witness stated that everyone was loaded shoulder-to-shoulder.

Also, the clip features Allegra Stratton who has since resigned due to leaked footage that showed her in a fake press conference laughing about a Christmas party.

“You’d do well to recall that many people who attended the party were not employees at No10 and would have only gained entry to the event by going to Downing Street to give their names to a Metropolitan Police officer.

‘Who does the Metropolitan Police work for, Ma’am?

‘Our citizens?

Or Boris Johnson?

Metropolitan Police did not comment on Led By Donkeys outside their Headquarters.

But, the statement was issued in an attempt to respond to concerns they received last year about the parties at Downing Street.

Today, a spokesperson said that: “The Metropolitan Police Service received significant correspondence related to claims in the media suggesting that Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations had been violated at No. In November and December 2020, 10 Downing Street.

“All of this correspondence was reviewed in detail by detectives, and footage that ITV News published.

“The footage and correspondence do not support a violation of the Health Protection Regulations. However, it refutes the allegations in media.

“Based on lack of evidence and consistent with our policy of not investigating retrospective breaches of these Regulations, we will not open an investigation by the Met at this point.

“The Met met with Cabinet Office to discuss the inquiry by Cabinet Secretary.

“If evidence is discovered as a result, it will then be sent to the Met for further investigation.”

Last night, the activist group uploaded the video to Twitter where it already has more than 3 million views.

Over 60,000 people have shared it on Twitter and many others have commented.

Martin Compston, Line-of Duty star, showed support by tweeting the post.

@sdnpb-norman said: ‘I’m a retired Met officer and this made me cry with disgust at what they’ve become.’

@vampsinthe stated: “If AC12 investigated bent police officers instead of politicians, then there would be material to make 10 series for the Tory front benches alone.”

@SmileTolula stated: “Most of the images being leaked are damning right upsetting to all those who have lost loved ones or attended a funeral with a limited number.”

“Seeing this picture [Downing street staff allegedly at the party]People are made to laugh when they hear that nothing is being done.

“@BorisJohnson get involved.”

@chipk0 said: “The criminal investigation should soon involve the defendants.

@metpoliceuk: This point in human history can go either way; authoritarian or democratic.

Cressida’s actions will change history.

Led by Donkeys stated: “We cannot confirm or deny Adrian Dunbar’s membership of our investigation team.”
