According to the West Midlands Police, two young men were seen carrying a knife and ran into school grounds at 9.30am Tuesday, June 7.
BirminghamLive has learned that parents told their children to get down on the floor underneath the desks of the classrooms after the police incident.
Trois teenagers are now being held by police on suspicion of possessing a blade.
No injuries have been reported, and the police are continuing their investigations.
After receiving reports that people were carrying knives, officers stormed the North Birmingham Academy’s grounds.
One parent told the Express & Star: ‘It is every parent’s worst nightmare [..]It took parents a while to learn the truth.
“The school was closed and the reason for that were not explained to us.”
She continued: “Then, all of the children that had links to the assailant were searched at the school.”
A parent claimed that their child was so afraid they ran under the desk to hide from police officers.
Then they added, “She texted me to ask mom for help.” There are knives-wielding men under my table.
The school is amazing. It was not easy for the staff and pupils.
Three teenagers were arrested by police after an incident that landed the Birmingham secondary school in lockdown.
The police spokeswoman said that they were responding to reports about three young men who had been seen carrying a knife on Warren Road in Kingstanding, Birmingham just before 9:30 am today.
The officers arrived and searched the area. Some of the men ran onto the North Birmingham Academy grounds in College Road.
Three teens were detained on suspicion of possessing a blade by armed officers who entered the premises.
They are currently being held by police. Our investigation continues and no one has yet reported injuries.

“The police attended and resolved the matter quickly. The staff quickly responded to manage the situation and no student was at risk. Students were able to return to class as normal.
