This stylish outfit was worn by the mother of two for her last engagement. 

Its woolen fabric was counterbalanced by the cut of its hem, adding levity and style to the Winter collection. 

She first wore it to open the 39th edition of the International Tourism Trade Fair (FITUR) in Madrid in 2019, and has worn it several times since. 

She paired her skirt with a blouse made of black silk and a Sando V-neck. This has been a regular in her wardrobe.

The stylish look was paired with black stilettos, a black leather clutch and minimalistic accessories. 

With her brown hair styled with a ponytail, and with the middle parting showing, she wore a pair golden hoop earrings. 

Letizia was wearing a cover-up that was in line with Spanish covonavirus regulations. Letizia was also sporting her everyday makeup. 

She had her eyebrows sculpted, and was sporting a touch of bronze and mascara.

Letizia worked closely with Cervantes Institute in order to support its work. 

The Senegalese president opened an international centre last week in Dakar. This was her last engagement internationally for the year.

Letizia will take a break from today’s festivities to be with her family and enjoy the holidays.

Princess Leonor, 16, who joined her family in the traditional festive greeting, returned home last week from UWC Atlantic College in South Wales – based at a 12th-century castle and dubbed the ‘Hippie Hogwarts’.

Letizia and Felipe used a photo of their daughters in previous years to send holiday wishes to the public.

But this year the family all appeared together in the gardens of the Zarzuela Palace in Madrid for their Christmas card snap, with Letizia proving her low-key fashion prowess in a comfy grey jacket.

Letizia and Felipe VI met at a party in 2002. The pair developed an immediate connection that led to their wedding in May 2004.  

The former newsreader is the granddaughter of a taxi driver and the eldest daughter of Jesús José Ortiz Álvarez, a journalist, and first wife María de la Paloma Rocasolano Rodríguez, a nurse and hospital union representative.

Her education was at a high school in the public sector. She also completed a degree from Complutense University of Madrid. An MA in Audiovisual Journalism was awarded to her by the Institute for Studies in Audiovisual Journalism.

In 2014, King Juan Carlos abdicated to King Felipe VI.
