After complaining about being awakened by an ambulance in the wee hours of the morning, a homeowner from the South of England was called’selfish.
Southampton resident asked Hampshire Air Ambulance for explanations as to why they flew at 4am.
The charity rescue was being considered ‘inconsiderate’ by them.
The complaint was shared by the air ambulance team, who said that while they always do everything possible to assist people, messages such as this can seriously affect team morale.

“We regret that the helicopter has to wake people in the night. However, it’s not our intent to interrupt our evening but instead save someone’s lives.
Social media users from more than 2000 countries rushed to defend the air ambulance, claiming they were “gobsmacked” by the moaning resident.
Tweeter Cheryl MGrory stated: “Anyone with common-sense would know that at 4am, you’re flying to an emergency.
“So many selfish individuals in the universe.”

A moaning resident requested that the charity rescue team ‘explain why’ it flew over their home at 4am.

Although the air ambulance service apologized, they said that messages such as these had a negative impact on their morale.

The message inspired this social media user to announce that he was increasing the monthly donation to his local air-ambulance service.

One Twitter user stated that he’d be happy for an air ambulance to fly as low as possible over his house.

Mark is a social media user originally from Yorkshire who said that the text was inconsiderate.

Cheryl McGrory claimed that ‘anyone who has common sense would have known at 4am when you are going to fly for an emergency.’
Phill Holding also wrote, “I’m not from your region, but if any air rescue team would like to fly at all times over my house to save a person’s life please let me know.”
Another user on Twitter stated, “I will increase the monthly donation that I make to my local Air Ambulance!”
And they concluded: “Ignore the haters!” They are heroes who save lives! You are lifesaving heroes!

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance stated that they were ‘genuinely overwhelmed by’ thousands of kind responses.

“Sadly, this is not the first complaint we have had like this. It probably will be our last. But it’s comforting to know that you’re there for us.
