After complaining about being awakened by an ambulance in the wee hours of the morning, a homeowner from the South of England was called’selfish.

Southampton resident asked Hampshire Air Ambulance for explanations as to why they flew at 4am.

The charity rescue was being considered ‘inconsiderate’ by them.

The complaint was shared by the air ambulance team, who said that while they always do everything possible to assist people, messages such as this can seriously affect team morale.

“We regret that the helicopter has to wake people in the night. However, it’s not our intent to interrupt our evening but instead save someone’s lives.

Social media users from more than 2000 countries rushed to defend the air ambulance, claiming they were “gobsmacked” by the moaning resident.

Tweeter Cheryl MGrory stated: “Anyone with common-sense would know that at 4am, you’re flying to an emergency.

“So many selfish individuals in the universe.”
