Ricky Martin, a 21-year old nephew has accused him of incest and could be sentenced to up to 50 years imprisonment.
A restraining order was issued to the singer in response to a Puerto Rico domestic violence incident earlier this month. However, the identity of the victim had not been released.
His brother, Eric Martin, has since identified the alleged victim as the singer’s nephew, Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, Spanish news outlet Marca reported.
Martin has been accused of using psychological and physical assaults against Sanchez over the course of their seven-month long relationship. This ended around two months ago.
Martin’s 50-year-old representative previously stated in a People statement that the abuse allegations were “completely false” and “fabricated”, earlier this month.

Martin’s accuser is thought to be Sanchez. He filed a temporary restraining orders against Martin under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence laws on July 1.
The order prohibited Martin from contacting or calling the petitioner who allegedly ‘fears for his safety.’
According to the order – which was reviewed by El Vocero, a Puerto Rican newspaper – Martin and Sanchez broke up two months ago after dating for seven months. The Latin Post reported that Martin’s 21-year-old son is his stepsister.
Sanchez alleged Martin did not accept the separation and has been seen loitering near his house at least three times, according to the order which was reviewed by El Vocero, a Puerto Rican newspaper.
Martin also claimed that he had consumed large quantities of alcohol as well as drugs.
Sanchez is reportedly being represented by the lawyers of the singer, who have denied all allegations.
Marca was informed by Martin’s legal staff that Marca, a 21-year-old accuseder, had just been denounced and attacked her after he harassed her.
Eric Martin stated to The Latin Post that Sanchez suffers also from “mental problems”. He added that Sanchez’s young relative was’very certain’ he wasn’t telling the truth.

The protective order was issued on July 1 after police visited Martin’s north coast town of Dorado in an attempt to serve him. Axel Valencia, a spokesperson for the police said previously to The Associated Press.
Valencia pointed out that Valencia did not know the identity of the person filing for the temporary restraining orders. This would have required police to determine if enough evidence was available to bring charges. The request went directly to the court.
Incest claims in Puerto Rican law are very serious. Incest cases against Sanchez and Martin could see the singer sentenced to up 50 years imprisonment if their alleged relationship is proved.
Martin addressed the charges via Twitter on July 3rd, saying that the protection order against him was based upon completely false allegations. I’ll respond to it through the court process with all the facts and dignity that define me.
“Because this is an ongoing legal issue, I can’t make specific statements at the moment. I’m grateful for your many messages of solidarity and thank you so much.
He didn’t make additional statements concerning the charges.
Martin responded to the allegations via Twitter on July 3. He called them ‘completely fake’
Martin, born Enrique Martín Morales, rose to fame at age 12 when he joined Puerto Rican boy band Menudo in 1984. According to industry experts, his involvement in Menudo is what launched his major music career.
He left the group five years later to pursue a solo career and is now regarded as Menudo’s most famous member.
The singer released a few albums in Spanish during the 1990s before he was selected to compose La Copa de la Vida for the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Later, he performed the song at 41st Grammy Awards.
Martin gained global recognition with the release of his 1999 hit Livin’ la Vida Loca, which opened doors for his numerous English-language albums.
The singer is credited with selling more than 85 million albums worldwide and has earned more than 200 awards for his music, The Famous People reported.

Martin is currently working on a variety of projects, including an EP in the making and a role as Mrs. American Pie on Apple TV+. The comedy, which is based off Juliet McDaniel’s 2018 book, has been in development for some time.
In the miniseries, Martin takes on the role of Robert, a ‘confirmed bachelor,’ who teams up with Kristen Wiig’s Maxine after her husband walks out on her during Thanksgiving 1969.
Maxine, devastated at losing her marriage and social circle, asks Robert for help to form a fake family in order that Maxine may compete in Mrs American Pie.
Martin and Enrique Iglesias are also set to go on a music tour together in the fall.

In addition to his successful entertainment career, Martin has become an advocate for LGBTQ rights around the globe.
He is married to Jwan Yosef (Syrian-born Swedish painter) since 2017.
The couple shares four children: 13-year-old twins, Valentino and Matteo, as well as Lucia, three and Renn, also three.
In June 2021, Martin talked about his family while shutting down rumors they were expecting another child.
“I don’t conceal anything these days.” Martin stated to People in that moment that we aren’t pregnant. “Right now we are dealing with twins, a pair Irish twins as Lucia Renn and Lucia were only nine months apart. They’re amazing, but they are strong and healthy.
He said that they would like to have more children in the future and they already have their embryos frozen.

The singer stated that although adoption was an option, he decided to use a surrogate in order to have his children sooner.

The happy couple announced that they had welcomed a daughter named Lucia in December 2018.

In an interview with Out, the performer spoke about his past and revealed that before coming out, he was afraid of losing his family because of his sexuality.
He said, “Many years ago I dreamt about being a dad. And many, many, many, many times, I went through the grieving process that I am gay. I am a closeted homosexual man and I won’t be able be a daddy.”
He said that he supports the idea of LGBT+ couples adopting, but he also recognized the difficulties faced by many.
He stated that while adoption is an option, it can be very romantic. However, it’s difficult for gay men to adopt in certain countries.
Last month, the openly gay singer revealed he was traumatized when he was encouraged to come out during a television interview with Barbara Walters on The View in 2000.
“I felt hurt when she dropped the question because I wasn’t ready for it to be out. It was terrifying. There’s a little PTSD with that,’ Martin said during a June interview for the annual Pride issue of People.
Martin made public his homosexuality in 2010 via a statement posted on his website.
Martin stated at the time: “I’m proud to state that I’m a blessed homosexual man.” “I am extremely blessed to be who and what I am.”

Martin now speaks out about his sexuality, but he was uncomfortable talking about it before.
Walters was 92 when he first came out. A decade before that, the singer of Livin’ la Vida Loca had talked to Walters about his career and life.
He was shocked when the famous interviewer asked him about his sexuality.
Walters asked: ‘The rumors that talk about your sexual orientation, you must be aware of these?’
“Do they hurt?” How do you handle them?’ she pressed.
Martin explained that “intimacy,” as Martin put it, is an actual word. No one should have to deal with homosexuality or sexuality. I think that sexuality is something that each individual should deal with in their own way, and that’s all I have to say about that.’
Walters retired in 2015 and vanished from television screens. Walters replied: “Well, you know that you can stop these rumors. You could say, as many artists have, “yes I am gay” or you could say “no I’m not” or you could leave it, as you are, ambiguous.
‘I don’t want to put you on the spot and it’s in your power to do it and I’m bringing it up with you Ricky because you know that this is being said and you’re even being named.’
Martin stated, “Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share the rumors, but for some reason I don’t feel the need.”
According to the Latin Star, he developed post-traumatic stress disorder after being placed in such public forums. He was not prepared to talk about his sexuality openly.
