Rose Ayling Ellis will star in a drama portraying a character who is deaf.
According to rumours, she will assume the lead role in the new film after impressing BBC executives and while maintaining her EastEnders job, if true.
This would be the first appearance of a person with hard hearing in a television series. The channel would love to see her “continue to break down stereotypes”.

An insider told The Sun: ‘Although she is committed for the foreseeable future to EastEnders, that doesn’t mean that she won’t be looking at her longer term prospects.
“Especially since she has seen her profile rise as a result sailing to the final.
“And the BBC will be keen for her to take her next step with them, and not with any other broadcaster who might be interested in signing her up,” she said.
Rose, who had previously performed in many stage productions, assumed the role of Frankie Lewis last May. She also has credits on TV for Summer of Rockets, Casualty, and other TV shows.

Groundbreaking: It would mark the first time a hard-of-hearing personality would feature in a series aired by the BBC, which would like to see her ‘continue to shatter stereotypes’
It comes after she revealed that she and Giovanni Pernice, 31, will perform their emotional silent routine that left the nation in tears, in Saturday’s final.
Both the NTA nominees and the Italian dancer are determined to impress viewers as they compete for the gold ball.
Speaking on It Takes Two with Rylan, Giovanni explained: ‘It was such a big moment, it would be weird for us not to do it again.’
Rose is the first contestant who can hear. She performed alongside Giovanni to a Couple’s Choice to Symphony By Clean Bandit with Zara Larsson. This was a beautiful segment that wasn’t done to music.

Talented Rose was cast as Frankie Lewis last May. Rose had previously performed in numerous stage productions.
The dancer added: ‘Obviously the silent moment was so powerful, and because this got so much attention. Rose keeps saying the dance changed her life and lots of people’s lives, so it’s just fair to do it again and I think it’s the right thing to do.’
Rose confirmed the significance of it, saying: “That dance changed me.” So I’m going to give it everything I’ve got.
‘I want to enjoy it because it’s my last Saturday night ever – I just want to thank the public for keeping me in and believing in me.’
The routine was first done by the trio last month. Things took an amazing turn when they competed in the finals.
The moment was praised by 55-year-old Anton Du Beke as ‘the most memorable thing on television’
Shirley Ballas (61), head judge, stood to thank the couple for their moving routine. She said: “This number will remain in my heart forever.”
Motsi Mambase, 40, expressed gratitude to Rose, who added the innovative element of dance to support the deaf communities.
‘Thank you. It was a wonderful moment for us to be included in your world.
Their 39-point score was almost perfect, leaving them feeling happy.
