Teetotal Russell Brand invests in a pub after he and Laura buy a 16th Century Inn

After years of excess, he became an unlikely teetotaller – but now it appears that Russell Brand has bought a pub.

According to reports, the comedian and his wife Kirsty, a TV host, have taken over ownership of Pishill’s Crown Inn, close to Henley-on-Thames.

Nestled in the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside, the Grade II listed coaching house, which dates from the 16th Century – comes with a detached barn which can host weddings for up to 80 people.

Russell Brand, his wife Kirsty Gallacher, and Laura, Laura’s sister (both shown in 2018), are believed to have purchased the Crown Inn, Pishill, close Henley-on-Thames.

When it went on sale in April for offers starting at £850,000, estate agent Rightmove said: ‘The picturesque backdrop of the grounds makes the property an ideal choice for weddings and events and attracts plenty of trade throughout the year.

“The grounds also include a self-contained two-bedroom cottage.

‘And lastly, there is also a separate two-storey outbuilding, which… could easily be converted to further letting accommodation.’

There is a large, paved front patio, a gravel parking area with 35 spots, and a large, fenced-in rear yard with 120 seats.

Henley couple Mr Brand (46) and Mrs Brand (34) tied the knot at an intimate ceremony in August 2017. They have since been successful in other companies, which specializes in television production.

In a 2013 interview with The Guardian, Mr Brand stated that he had quit using drugs and alcohol in 2003. A job, a home, a cat and good friends give me a positive outlook.
