Russian graverobber was accused of keeping a home of horrors that contained 26 bodies of murdered little girls. He had them mummified and denied him freedom to marry.

Anatoly Mockvin, 55 years old, is a Russian historian who was detained after discovering that he had found corpses of young girls.

He was instead tried and convicted, but he was declared mentally unfit to stand trial.

Moskvin lawyers say that Moskvin is now stable enough to go outpatient after nine years’ treatment. They also claim that Moskvin wants to marry and move to Moscow.

They say he also planned to write a book and get a job as a language teacher – taking advantage of the fact that he speaks 13 languages.

His arrest revealed that he never had a girlfriend, and was also a virgin. But, after his arrest, it seems that he formed an unlikely friendship with a language student.

The Leninsky District Court ruled that the friend could not be made into a marriage until the man was admitted as an outpatient.

The horrendous bodies of young girls he dressed up as dolls, and placed around his home was discovered by investigators after the parents of his victim visited their house.

During the court hearings, he was described as “mad genius” and was then deemed unfit for trial on the basis of a paranoid schizophrenia diagnosis. In May 2012, he went to a psychiatrist clinic.

His macabre collection contained detailed notes for each tiny body. He also did online research about the strange subject of creating mummified dolls of human remains.
