Russian soldiers captured in Russia have told of hearing their air force bombard schools, hospitals, and kindergartens in Ukraine. They also admitted that Vladimir Putin’s barbaric invasion had been a terrible mistake.
One soldier, Sergey Galkin, was filmed sobbing as he apologised to Ukrainians for invading their country under Putin’s orders.
The Sun reports that the seven soldiers were taken from Ukraine by aircrews last week.
Later, they were given an opportunity to talk to journalists from the Interfax Ukraine News Agency.
Galkin, a member of the Russian 15th motorized rifle brigade, was among seven soldiers captured by the Ukrainian military and held in a hospital.

He described the sound of heavy artillery being fired on targets in Ukraine by Russian comrades, and he deplored the invasion as a “disaster”.
Galkin stated that they had been told by Putin to invade Ukraine and seize Kyiv’s capital, in a translation speech. This was supposedly for the purpose of protecting the people from fascism, tyranny (which are both allegedly found in Ukraine).
He explained that when we arrived in Ukraine we realized it was a disaster because many Ukrainian relatives and friends live in the Russian Federation.
“Here is a peaceful nation. People are friendly and communicate with one another in a way that is unimaginable. It is a result of an unidentified origin.

A tearful soldier begged Putin for an end to the Russian troop entry into Ukraine.
Galkin said it was a ‘treacherous invasion’ and that Galkin apologised for sending his team to every house, every street, every Ukrainian citizen, the elderly, women, and children.
According to the 34-year old, Putin should stop sending Ukrainian soldiers. He added that he had acted cowardly and that they were traitorous to him.
Maksim Chernik (captured soldier of the Russian 16th Motorised Rifle Brigade) added that it was a terrible feeling to realize what a huge mistake we made.
“Simply knowing that this all has to be fixed means the relationships have to improve somehow.
“This process will not take less than one year. This will be a long process that could take years, if not decades. After all that, I don’t know how to live.
Just days before a Russian soldier was captured by Ukraine, the video was uploaded. It shows Vladimir Putin talking about death squads that are used to kill deserters refusing to join in on his brutal war.
Feared at 22 years old, he claimed that there is a group of troops trained to capture any soldiers fleeing for their homeland.
He told anyone considering deserting the army that they wouldn’t succeed as he explained the latest tactics in the always sickening conflict.
Unnamed, the man also claimed that Russian soldiers were denied access to international news coverage because their phones were taken.
These comments were made after other Ukrainian prisoners of war described horrific conditions during the fighting.
A claimed commander stated that he was instructed to shoot civilians, and was part a force sent to seize Kharkiv’s capital in three days.
Other people claimed they were told falsely that they would be entering the neighboring country as “peacekeepers” to liberate Ukraine from Nazis.
