After being positive for Covid in mid-flight, a schoolteacher was forced to stay five hours alone in the plane’s toilet.
Marisa Fotieo took a rapid lateral flow test after her throat began to hurt during the journey from Chicago, Illinois to Reykjavik, Iceland.
Although she failed the pre-departure tests, she quickly discovered she was suffering from Covid. She had to be self-isolated.
Fotieo stated that there were 150 passengers on board the plane and his biggest fear was giving it away to them.
Marisa Fotieo, a Michigan teacher, was forced to spend five hours in the bathroom of a plane after testing positive for Covid during mid-flight.
The Michigan teacher then spent five hours in the tiny toilet of the aircraft during the six-hour flight.
The video of her discovering she was Covid positive, which she posted to TikTok went viral and received more than 4,000,000 views.
‘Within what felt like two seconds there were two lines,’ she said of taking her test on December 20.

However the experience was not all bad, as Fotieo said one of her Icelandair flight’s crew, named as Ragnhildur ‘Rocky’ Eiríksdóttir, brought her food and drink during her bathroom isolation.
The pair kept in touch and Fotieo said Eiríksdóttir tried to make her quarantine stay as enjoyable as possible.
Footage shared on TikTok shows Fotieo receiving a delivery from the flight attendant filled with snacks, a card and flowers.
Eiríksdóttir also bought her a small Christmas tree with lights to hang on it so she could decorate her room for Christmas Day.
However the experience was not all bad, as Fotieo said one of her Icelandair flight’s crew, named as Ragnhildur ‘Rocky’ Eiríksdóttir sent her gifts to make her quarantine stay as enjoyable as possible

Fotieo said, “It was so sincere, and she’s just a angel,”

Fotieo posted on December 29 that she was still in quarantine. However, this will end today or tomorrow.
Iceland demands that flight passengers submit a negative screening within 72 hours after departure
Icelandair has yet to reply to inquiries about the video.
