People fleeing war and poverty from Asia, Africa or the Middle East will find Greece along one of Europe’s most popular routes to join the EU.

For clandestine entry into Greece, the most popular routes are the dangerous and risky sea crossings from Turkey to the nearby Greek islands or the highly guarded land border crossing between Greece and Turkey.
