Dacia confirms the cost of its seven-seat family vehicle – it is cheaper than a Ford Fiesta.
The Jogger, an estate version of the Sandero, will start from £14,995 – that’s £1,650 less than the entry Ford, which has been the best-selling car in Britain for the last 12 years.
Dacia’s latest, budget-friendly car is now available for order. First deliveries will be made in the first quarter of next year.
The MPV-styled crossover is now the cheapest seven-seat car you can buy in Britain. The MPV-styled crossover is actually less expensive than the next most affordable model and can seat up to seven.

Not only is it the cheapest seven-seat model on the UK market but it is also £1,650 less than the entry Ford Fiesta supermini, which has been the best-seller for the last 12 years
Skoda’s Kodiaq was previously the most affordable seven-seat car on the UK market. The least costly version of the spacious SUV started at £20. £30,540 Basic ‘SE” trim
But the Czech model has been utterly trounced on affordability by the new Dacia, which will also become the first car from the budget Romanian brand (now owned by Renault) to offer hybrid technology – though not until 2023.
Jogger uses a stretched version the “CMF-B” platform, which underpins both the Sandero supermini and the Renault Clio/Captur.
Bosses state that the new model will be a blend of MPV space, estate car practicality and SUV styling.
The Jogger is the exact same platform as the Sandero supermini, and has the same styling.
The Jogger comes in half the cost of the most economical seven-seat version on the market. Be sure to remove the rearmost two seats.
The first deliveries will arrive in the early 2022 for Britons. Orders can now be made by Britons
It measures in at 4,547mm and is the longest Dacia model available.
However, the rugged exterior and 200mm of ground clearance make it a front-wheel-drive vehicle.
The unique selling point that the Duster SUV is the only four-wheel-drive Dacia model in the range will be retained.
Inside, the Jogger has three rows of flexible seating.
Split the middle row into 60:40. Flip it forwards. Rearmost pairs of seats can be completely removed. If required, this provides van-like transport space.
The boot has 160 litres capacity with the seven seat in place. It’s sufficient for small weekly shopping.
The boot can be expanded to 708L by taking out the third row of chairs. It is a great family wagon for five or less people.
Dacia says the boot floor with the rear seats not in use can accommodate a pram or a child’s push bike without disassembly and adds that ‘hikers can easily transport a full kit and that of their friends’ as the budget Romanian brand pushes its appeal to leisure enthusiasts.
The Jogger, measuring in at 4,547mm is the longest Dacia model currently on sale
You can fold the back row upwards for more space. However, they cannot be folded flat onto the floor.
Dacia claims that the Jogger will revolutionize the 7-seat market and make large cars more affordable for larger families.
The boot has 160 litres capacity with the seven seat in place. This is enough to store a few groceries each week. The boot can hold 708 litres when the third row of chairs are removed. It’s an ideal wagon for families, even if it only holds five people.
However, there are limitations. The chairs can’t be folded into the floor and cannot be slid backwards or forwards.
Dacia’s effort to lower manufacturing costs and offer customers affordable pricing is why this decision was made.
The vehicle has 24 litres of storage space, with compartments scattered throughout the cabin. It is a valuable feature for vehicles that transport children.
It includes a seven-litre glovebox and deep pockets in the doors front and back. There is also a 1.3-litre container storage space within the centre console. Six cup holders are included.
The Jogger is only available with front-wheel drive, despite its higher ride height, roof bars, and bulky design. The Duster SUV will remain the only Dacia with all-wheel drive.
Many optional extras are available to attract leisure-lovers.
From launch the single engine option will be the 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged unit already deployed in the Sandero.
The engine produces 108 bhp, 200 Nm of torque, and it is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The hybrid version will go on sale in approximately 12 months, using Renault Clio’s existing engine, dual-electric motor and battery setup of 1.2kWh.
Dacia claims that the Jogger Hybrid is electric-only and can be driven up to 80 per cent in urban environments.
A single powertrain, the turbocharged petrol of 1.0 litres used in Sandero, will be made available starting at launch
It shares its interior with the supermini Sandero. There are three infotainment options available, and the top-spec models get an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation.
Dacia states that there are 24 litres worth of storage in the Jogger’s cabin, which makes it an ideal family car.
The Jogger’s interior will feature the same modern upgrade as the Sandero.
Cheapest versions come with a ‘Media Control’ interface, which is a smartphone cradle and docking station that turn your device into the control unit for the radio and navigation.
The Media Display is available for mid-grade models. It adds four speakers to the model and an 8.0 inch touchscreen, but no sat nav. The latter is available as an upgrade to a ‘Media Nav’ model, which adds wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with six speakers.
In terms of safety, automatic emergency braking is standard across the range while other features include a blind spot warning – illuminating an LED light within the door mirror to warn the driver if another vehicle may be concealed from view – as well as Park Assist and Hill Start Assist.
Denis Le Vot was Dacia’s chief executive and announced that Jogger would be arriving.
‘This latest versatile addition embodies the brand’s outdoor spirit, always ready for adventure,’ he explained at its launch ahead of the Munich Mobility Show, which started this week.
It exemplifies Dacia’s determination to make mobility accessible for all people, including large families.
‘The Dacia Jogger will also be Dacia’s first hybrid, because mobility, be it in or out of town, must be available for everyone.’
