The shocking security footage captures a violent shootout between several perpetrators at Brooklyn’s Coney Island.

This shocking footage was taken from the front door of a local home. released by the NYPD Wednesday, shows a group of four armed, hooded suspects walking down Mermaid Avenue before producing handguns and letting off a slew of shots.

Cops stated that the group was wearing masks in brazen attacks on another group of four similarly armed people not shown in footage. The other group returned fire and forced the other to withdraw.

The incident took place on the largely residential street at roughly 5:30 pm, cops said Wednesday, adding no one was injured in the incident, which saw the rivaling crews let off at least 36 shots, ballistics experts who surveyed the scene said.

However, police have not yet made an arrest in this case. Following the closures of Covid in the last two years, thousands came to the area and the iconic amusement park.

According to police, five gunmen opened fire in the clash. These were four of those seen on surveillance footage and one from an opposing group.

The group seen on the video apparently fled the block after letting loose a flurry, with one fleeing into a nearby structure.

The five suspects in the shooting are being sought by police. They were caught on security cameras at the crime site or close to it.

A security camera at a subway station nearby captured the likenesses of four suspects who were seen shooting in the footage. They appeared to be wearing masks and taking steps to conceal their identities. 

One of the three appeared to be male and the fourth, which was the only one to briefly appear in the footage, seemed to be female.

The member of the other group was also captured by a nearby security camera, an African American man wearing a dark jacket holding a gun. The images of other members of this group were not released by police.

An arrest was not made Wednesday morning.

Cops said that of the 36 rounds fired, none struck any innocents – and none of the suspects for that matter – causing property damage only, cops said. The investigation continues.

It was one of several shootings that took place during this long weekend. Families flocked in large numbers to outdoor areas and parks to celebrate the holiday.

TSA worker Donovan Davy, 45, was shot in nearby East Flatbush while speaking to his sister on the phone, and was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital.

Elsewhere in Brooklyn, a victim was killed at an apartment complex in Brownsville.

A man was also shot in Queens before 12am on Sunday, as he He rode the Q train to Manhattan from Park Slope in Brooklyn. 

Police have yet to make an arrest in the case - which transpired as thousands flocked to the neighborhood and its iconic amusement park over Memorial Day Weekend, following Covid-related closures over the past two years

Police are yet to arrest the suspect in this case. The incident occurred as thousands visited the neighborhood’s iconic amusement parks over Memorial Day Weekend.

Andrew Abdullah (25) was a suspected gunman. He opened fire while the train crossed the Manhattan Bridge. He Had been on bail from previous violent crimes. He was taken into custody Tuesday morning and charged with second-degree murder.

The weekend also saw three others were hit by gunshots – all in Brooklyn.

26 people died in the US from gun violence this weekend. Crime continues to rise across America. 

The latest rise in violence, crimes and deaths on New York City’s streets and subways has made many people weary.

Although murders and shootings have declined by 10 percent and five percent, respectively, the overall crime rate in New York City has risen to 39.24 percent in 2022.

This includes an increase of 19% in felony attacks, almost 15 percent more rapes, and a 40% jump in robberies.

The meteoric rise in crime in the city seen since the pandemic has spurred Mayor Eric Adams, a former NYPD captain, to vow to crackdown on the transgressions.

These efforts have so far failed, with crimes up almost 40% compared to last year.
