Siobhan Cattigan, a 26-year-old Scotland rugby player, has passed away.
She was a back row player who had won 19 caps for the country. Stirling described it as a tragic passing.
The governing body released the following statement: “Scotish Rugby is deeply disturbed to learn that Scotland’s international SiobhanCattigan has passed away.”
“All of our players and people send their thoughts and condolences to Siobhan and his family, as well as many teammates at Stirling County in Scotland during this difficult time.
“Specialist Scottish Rugby employees now provide ongoing support for those most affected.”

Cattigan played against Wales for the 2017 Six Nations.
This year, she also played in all three of the tournament’s matches. Cattigan represented her country at a World Cup qualifier against Spain in September.

She made her debut for Scotland in 2018, vs Wales, as a back rower, having won 19 caps for her nation.
County will miss ‘Shibby. She played a key role in developing women’s rugby at the club, and was an inspiration for the younger girls.
“Shibby was our teammate, friend and colleague and we are deeply sorry for her loss. We send our deepest condolences, love and thoughts to Shibby’s loved ones at this difficult time.
“We hope that everyone will respect their privacy as they cope with this tragic loss.”
