According to royal officials, Lewis Hamilton will be knighted at Windsor Castle on Wednesday for his service in motorsports.
Just three days following the controversial loss of the eighth Formula One world championship title to Mercedes, this investiture ceremony will occur.
It comes after the 36-year old was left out of the six shortlisted sports stars for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year, which will be held this Sunday.
Hamilton is the fourth F1 driver who will receive a knighthood after Sir Stirling Moss (Sir Jack Brabham) and Sir Jackie Stewart.
He was knighted last December 12 years ago, after receiving an MBE for his first title in the world.

Mercedes launched immediately two appeals against Verstappen, the first for overtaking in a safety vehicle and the second to claim a violation of race rules following safety car periods – both were rejected.
