Sir Richard Sutton, multimillionaire hotelier and partner of Sidney Sutton had his neck paralysed after being repeatedly stabbed in her back by her son. Today’s murder trial heard that the victim was a suspect.

Anne Schreiber, 66, was left with the devastating injuries following the stabbing which a court heard left Sir Richard’s £2million country mansion near Gillingham, Dorset, looking like a ‘warzone’.

Sir Richard, an elderly baronet, was killed in a knife attack on April 3.

Thomas Schreiber, Ms Schreiber’s son is being tried for Sir Richard’s murder as well as his mother’s attempted killing.

After arguing about the inheritance of a family chandelier, and the day at the races, jurors have heard that the 35-year old aspiring painter fatally attacked the businessman.

Schreiber previously admitted to the murder of Sir Richard. He pleaded guilty in the past to operating a Range Rover at high speed on the A303 and A4 during the chase after the stabbings. He denied murdering and attempted murder.

Today’s trial took place at Winchester Crown Court. Jurors heard that Mrs Schreiber had been stabbed so many time during Sir Richard’s ‘vicious attack’ that doctors needed to use 27 litres for her survival.

Average human blood volume is around 5 litres at any given time.

Today Schreiber, after his murder in court, wept as Schreiber made an emotional call to his sister in the dock.

It was in this that Schreiber fell to the floor and apologized, while blaming a “demon” as Louisa Schreiber (40), who said that their mother had been paralysed from her neck down. She is on a ventilator. Schreiber added, “I don’t think she’ll make it.”

He called Louisa Schreiber (40), his sister, 35, on April 27th, almost three weeks after attacking his mother and partner.

He stated, “Louisa, that’s Tom. I beg you to please do not hang up… It’s a pity that I bother you. It was just that I wanted to hear from you and find out if mom’s doing okay.

Before Schreiber expressed regret, his sister responded: “I don’t have any words to express my feelings,”

He replied, “I’m sorry. It is completely fucking insane, it’s complete nightmare that I have.”

“I am waking up everyday hoping to get out of this nightmare…” It’s completely madness. I have no idea what caused it. I am so sorry.

“I didn’t intended for any of it to happen. I want you to be able to trust me that I didn’t want to hurt anybody

Louisa said: “She is paralysed Tom… from her neck down… she has a ventilator… her eyes can still open and she can smile… it seems like her brain functions but I do not know her fate.”

Sister Louisa Schreiber said after her father David died in 2013, her brother grew 'quite dark' and 'frustrated' at multi-millionaire Sir Richard

Sister Louisa Schreiber claimed that after the death of her father David in 2013, her brother was “quite dark” and became frustrated at Sir Richard Multi-millionaire.

“She sustained a severe spinal cord injury and is now able to function normally. [now]Whether she’ll ever be able to move.

Hants repeatedly shouted “No” as Hants described his mother’s injuries to him. Schreiber then asked, “Can she move?” Schreiber repeatedly shouted ‘No’ as Hants called from Winchester prison. He asked his sister about their mother’s injuries and asked if she could move.’.

Louisa responded to him when he stated that he couldn’t understand why his mom could not move her legs.

It was possible that Mrs Schreiber might not be able breathe normally without the ventilator. She also stated: “I don’t think she’ll make it.”

Schreiber stated that he was sorry for the incident. This is how I lost it.

“That wasn’t me there that morning. Thomas Schreiber wasn’t there. It was somebody else.

After saying, “I just wanted mum to hug me”, he continued before saying, “I just flipped.”

At Winchester Crown Court, Schreiber was in tears by the end of the twelve-minute long call recording.

Sir Richard, who last year was listed at number 435 in the Sunday Times Rich List with an estimated family fortune of £301million, was killed following rows with Schreiber about the inheritance of a family chandelier and a day at the races, the court previously heard.

The man owned an extensive property portfolio and over 7,000 acres, which included the Sheraton Grand in London’s Park Lane as well as the Athenaeum Mayfair hotel.

Schreiber admits manslaughter to the murder of the hotelier but does not deny his involvement in it. His mother was attempted murder. He pleaded not guilty.

After fleeing in Range Rover, he was caught by police in London after an intense chase at high speed and a hard stop.

Sir Richard’s corpse was discovered on the landing. After having been attacked downstairs, he limped upstairs and Schreiber is reported to have then stabbed him with a kitchen knife five additional times.

According to the prosecution, Schreiber repeatedly cut Sir Richard’s mother (toxic and gold-digging) after fantasizing about them for several months.

The 35-year-old sent a chilling message to his friend, telling him that he contemplated murdering the victims every morning and night. This was about one month before the shootings.

Sir Richard, his first wife Fiamma had two children and he also had five grandchildren.

Danish-born physiotherapist Mrs Schreiber has her own practice in Milborne Port (Dorset) and has three grown-up kids, including Thomas.

The trial is continuing.
