Snoochie Shy and Louise Minchin emotional embrace after winning the terrifying plank challenge

Snoochie Shy and Louise Minchin, 53, won the terrifying plank challenge on the first episode of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The couple, along with some other celebrities, had to complete the Walk The Plank task together in pairs in order for them to be able to gain keys to get into the Castle Camp and have dinner that night.

Louise was given an emotional hug by Snoochie (29-year-old radio DJ), after the task. Ant and Dec then revealed to Louise that Snoochie would be joining the red team. 

Scary! Snoochie Shy (53), and Louise Minchin (53), were the winners of the terrifying plank test on the inaugural episode I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out!

Explaining the challenge before they started host Declan Donnelly said: ‘The winning team will get to pick which two celebrities from the other group will represent them in the next challenge.’

Ant McPartlin, co-host, said that the team with the most keys would have access to Castle’s main camp, where they will be given a bed and eat tonight. 

“While the losers are banished to Castle Clink, they will still be on the basic food rations. It’s not where you want to go. 

After the game was set, everyone turned their attention to the horrifying planks.

Dec stated, ‘Infront of you are two planks. These get narrower as your progress over the quarry. 

“You will need to cross over gaps between the planks in order to get to the yellow gaming zone at the bottom, located 213 feet above water. When you’re both at the end, the game begins.

It’s time to play! The couple, along with some other celebrities, had to go in pairs and walk the rig in Walk The Plank in order for them to be able to gain keys to get into the Castle Camp and have dinner that night.

Ant explained, “Between these planks is an array of lights. When the red light flashes, press the button using your foot. They will award the celebrity who hits their button first, and they will drop the loser from their table.

Louise vs Danny was first. Ant and Dec asked how they felt as they made their way to the planks.

Louise looked at her plank, and she said that there was nothing worse than it right now. It’s frightening.

Emotional: Louise received a hug from Snoochie, a 29-year old radio DJ. Ant and Dec announced that Snoochie was joining Louise in the red team.

Declan Donnelly explained the challenges before they began: “The winner team will be able to choose which celebrity from the other group will represent it in the next challenge.”

Winner! Snoochie shouted and the light changed to green as she touched her buzzer.

Snoochie was so scared that she began screaming terror from the top of an abandoned quarry.

Heights: Louise vs Danny was first. They walked up to their planks, and Ant and Dec inquired how they were feeling.

Danny said it sarcastically, “I can’t wait”, Ant looked at Dec, and said, “A little bit of sarcasm there”, Dec laughed and added, “Little bit.”

Louise, Danny and their friends began playing their game. The infamous “plank wobble”, which was caused by trying to maintain their balance at 213 feet above the quarry lakes lake, returned.

Both reached the end and anxiously waited to see the green light.

After the green light flashed, both Danny and Louise put their feet on the buzzer. Louise won the race and Danny fell.

Bravo! Louise finished the challenge in record time. Danny dropped his plank and was left hanging in the air.

Shaking

Ant McPartlin was the co-host and said, “The team who wins the keys will gain access to Castle Camp, where you’ll get a bed and dinner tonight.”

Ant and Dec disclosed that Louise would become the first red team member and Danny would become the first yellow team member.

Naughty Boy and Snoochie followed. Snoochie’s plank wobbled at the end.

Snoochie found it too difficult and began screaming in terror as she hung above an abandoned quarry.

Snoochie was not disappointed. Her plank began to wobble the moment she touched it. Snoochie shouted, “I’m going to drop!”

Snoochie shouted and the light went green as she touched her buzzer. 

She was actually the fastest so Naughty Boy dropped his plank and was left hanging in the air. 

Ant explained to the yellow team that this meant Arlene Phillips and David Ginola would be joining them. Danny, a football fan, was thrilled to hear that David Ginola would be joining them.

Terrified

Game: Ant and Dec announced that Louise will now be the Red Team’s first player and Danny the Yellow Team’s first player

 It was also announced that Naughty Boy would join Danny on the yellow team.

Louise and Snoochie were told by the hosts that they had won the right to select two stars from each group to be their guests.

Louise stated that the pair chose Matty and Kadeena.  

Terrifying: It all proved too much for Snoochie Shy as she found herself screaming in terror while hanging above an abandoned quarry on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

These celebs were captured from Gwrych Castle in a field close to Caernarfon. It is approximately 40 miles. 

Ant McPartlin, co-host of the show, said about the challenge that it would be more difficult than ever. All celebrities must face tough challenges to reach the Castle to claim the Keys to the Castle. 

Declan Donnelly said, “And you all will face the first challenge but not as a group.” Instead you’ll be facing each other head on. Louise is your first challenge. [Minchin]Danny is the one you’ll be facing [Miller]Naughty Boy and Snoochie will be your opponents. 

Louise Minchin, Danny Miller and Dec were first to tackle the job. Dec stated that they could both navigate the plank along with the yellow play area. 

Nail-biting:The celebs were taken from Gwrych Castle, to secluded field near Caernarfon, a distance of around 40 miles  (Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly pictured)

Scary: However, Snoochie got more than she bargained for when her plank started to wobble as soon as she stepped on, prompting her to shout: ‘I’m gonna drop!’

Louise was told by Danny, “Come on girl! You have this man!”

Dec commented that it was amazing to see suddenly how difficult it is to walk in straight lines. He watched as the stars battled through the obstacle.  

“You are in the game play zone.” Keep in mind that when the light turns green, it’s the time you press the button with your feet.

“Oh my god!” Snoochie shouted and began to wobble with Ant, saying: “Oh my god!  

Scary: Snoochie didn’t have the most fun crossing and she had to pretend that there was a party. Naughty boy took his time. 

Ant stated that the challenge was high up. He said: “This year will be harder than ever. All the celebrities will have to face difficult challenges to get to the Castle to claim the keys.” 

Dec Donnelly said: “And each of you will face the first challenge. But not as a group. Instead you’ll be facing each other head on. Louise is your first challenge. [Minchin]Danny is the one you’ll be facing [Miller]Snoochie will confront Naughty Boy. 

Uh oh! Along with Danny, Louise and Naughty Boy, Naughty Boy also took the step.

Eeek! Naughty Boy, Snoochie Shy, and Snoochie Shy held each other before moving on to the plank. 

Uh Oh! When Danny and Louise started playing their game, their infamous “plank wobble”, which was when they attempted to balance their bodies 213 feet above the quarry lakes, returned.

It comes after Ant and Dec were gearing up for the new series of I’m A Celebrity with a walk around the Welsh countryside on Wednesday. 

They took to Instagram and posted a photo of themselves enjoying the views near Gwrych Castle, North Wales. This was in preparation for Sunday’s launch episode. Frankie Bridge and Richard Madeley will be taking on their first trials. 

Both of them smiled as they snapped the photo. Ant was wearing a black hoodie with joggers, while Dec had a matching black jacket and trousers.

Location: Ant and Dec are getting ready for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! On Wednesday, we took a walk through the Welsh countryside. 

The co-hosts also wrote, “Windy Welsh Walk.” How do you get to the castle ???’?  

Gwrych Castle is said to have been haunted at the castle by spirits and those who were involved in the ‘dark arts’. 

Nick Stoppani is a Ghost Hunter and participated in paranormal investigations of the castle back in 2017. He believes that it may be haunted.

He told The Sun: ‘It’s a haunted place. There have been many people who practiced witchcraft there, including those with evil intentions. They used spells and sacrifices.

Challenge: Richard Madeley will be taking on the Turrets of Terror in I’m A Celebrity’s first episode

“My colleague on the investigation felt an overwhelming feeling of witches and witchcraft.

“I requested that the spirits make a tap sound in order to tell how many spirits are present. They made three taps.

Nick said that Richard is the perfect celebrity for paranormal activity because he “wouldn’t take it personally”.

Ghost hunters also said certain people can attract spirits like being low-spirited or feeling off-guard. The ghost hunter stated that this year’s celebrity crop will make him happy.

Along with the Walk The Plank task, the first episode of the long-awaited return of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! will see Richard take to the Turrets of Terror.

Frankie Bridge, Richard Bridge, and Frankie Bridge have been voted into the Turrets of Terror. This will see them compete to recover the key to the castle that is located in Wales for the second consecutive year. From there they will be living for the next three months.

The ITV’s 2021 series, which starts on Sunday, will have the longest stars spent at the Welsh castle. This year’s show lasts for three weeks and includes 25 brutal challenges.  

Eeek! Frankie Bridge and Richard were chosen by the public as the Turrets of Terror competitors. They will have to find the key to the castle.

Ant explained the challenge to Richard and Frankie: ‘Hanging high above the two Turrets is a pair of giant keys. First celebrity to reach the top will be awarded their key. 

He continued, “Each Turret is composed of three floors with stairs leading up to the next level. You must however pass through the locked gate to reach the next level. 

“On every floor, you will need to find keys that unlock each padlock to open the gate. You must reach the top of the Turret to grab your key. It is the celebrity who has managed to get their key back first that wins.   

It was a Trial so Frankie as well Richard had to face the challenges with all of these critters.  

Ahh! Frankie appeared very nervous about taking up the challenge 

 Trial: Ant explained: ‘Hanging high in the air between the two turrets are two giant keys. First celebrity to reach the top of the tower and take their key will be awarded the prize.

 Oh no! “Oh no! To get to the next level, you must pass through a gate locked to your vehicle.

 Race: ‘On each floor you must retrieve the keys to unlock the three padlocks to open each gate. Once you reach the roof, you will need to use your lance and hook the key onto your lap. First celebrity to grab their key will win

 Brace yourself! Frankie as well Richard were forced to face the Trial with all of these critters.

It was a challenge: So far, the winning team had to decide between Richard and Frankie to represent them. The other team would continue to represent their team.

Frankie, Richard and the winner team had to pick between them while the other one would represent the opposing team. 

Richard faces a challenge as Chloe, his daughter, admitted that he was an ‘excellent sounding board’ and she supported him before he appeared on the program.

Speaking with The Mirror, Chloe gushed: ‘He is just perfect and he is a perfect man to be a father.’   

“He’s a great laugh. He is charming, charming, intelligent, perceptive, compassionate, and knows when to be right and wrong. My lucky stars are truly my blessings.

“He’s a great sounding board. He is a good sounding board.  

Other: David Ginola and Arlene Phillips and Kadeena cox were walking in the Welsh forest when they came upon a laminate, which Arlene shared with everyone.

We are going to get straight into it. The sign reads: “Celebrities welcome to Wales!” Now, you four must go to battle and take part in the quest to capture the keys to Castle.

 In it to win it: ‘By winning the keys, you will have access to the Castle’s main camp, with a bed, a warm fire and a meal tonight. You will receive basic nutrition at the Castle Clink if you are a loser.

Working hard: Over walkie talkies, Ant & Dec revealed to the celebrities that the other four celebrities had just completed a challenge and the two winners from that challenge got to choose which two celebrities they’d like to join their team

Scary: Kadeena asked David about his nerves. David replied that he wasn’t nervous. Kadeena laughed and said she was afraid of all things.

They had to work together. There were one red flare box and one yellow one. To unlock the flare, the pair must lie down and place their arms into hellholes.

The helicopter takes off! After the ceremony, celebrities will be dropped at their campsite via helicopter. 

David Ginola and Arlene Phillips and Kadeena cox were walking in the Welsh forest when they came upon a laminate, which Arlene shared with everyone. 

It said: “Celebrities, welcome to Wales! Now, you four must go to battle and take part in the fight to capture the keys to the Castle. 

You will gain access to Castle Camp’s main camp. Losers will be sent to Castle Clink, where they will live on basic food. 

Ant and Dec told the stars over walkie-talkies that four other celebrities had recently completed a challenge. The two winners got to pick which celebrity they would like to be part of their team.    

Meet and greet: Before they left for camp, the contestants had a chance to meet each other in a luxurious pad. 

Eeek!

These celebrities were paired up to battle, Arlene and David vs Kadeena & Matty.

Two flare boxes were available, one in red and one in yellow. The pair had to lay down on the ground, and then put their arms in hell holes. They were required to share a tool with each other so that they could unlock the flare the fastest.

Danny was nervous about being in a helicopter carrying other stars at the start of the show. 

“The thought of being in a helicopter scares me,” he said. He said that the last thing he wanted to do was get sick and be all over celebrities. So he carried a sick bag with him. 

Stars who are heading to the castle include ex-BBC Breakfast host Louise Minchin; Olympian Matty Loew, DJ Snoochie Shy; GMB stars Richard Madeley; actor Danny Miller; producer Naughty Boy; Paralympian Kadeena Copx; footballer David; Olympic diver Matty L., Saturdays star Frankie Bridge. Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips. 

 Frightened: He said: ‘The idea of getting in that helicopter terrifies the life out of me. He said that the last thing he wanted to do was get sick and be all over celebrities. So he carried a sick bag with him.

“Tougher”: Five stars of 2021’s series will enter Gwrych Castle. The castle has new quarters The Clink, for celebrities who lose their first trials.

Ant and Dec welcome 12 people into Gwrych Castle’s grounds. These aerial photos show an even bigger setting.

Drone images of the location show two massive black boxes that have been constructed to the sides of the Grade I listed, 19-century country home. These boxes are likely to be more accommodating for the many challenges ahead. 

Two enormous turrets, surrounded with scaffolding, have been constructed near the castle’s front. These could be used to host daring encounters between famous faces in the “Battle for Stars”.

While the overall layout is similar to last year’s, there have been improvements to the massive castle over the last week to prepare for the new series.

The images show a large production area, complete with hidden spaces and marquees, as show bosses push all the buttons for ITV’s programme.

Five stars will find it more difficult to start their I’m A Celeb journey in The Clink. People living in The Clink are already at disadvantage because they will be forced to compete with the main camp.

Frankie, a singer, could find herself without a bed and sleeping on bare floors. She would then have to shower in darkness while holding onto a water-release chain.

They’ll spend the majority of their daily lives in camp, trying to stay warm from the cold outside temperatures.
