This is the third installment of the Spider Man movie reboot. It has grossed $253 million US and ranks third behind Avengers: Endgame, Infinity War and Infinity War.
Spider Man: No Way Home brought in $72 million to $74million on Saturday. Deadline reported that the film grossed $121 million Friday opening and $55 million Thursday previews.
Two-and-a half-hour long movie features Tom Holland playing Spider Man and Zendaya portraying Michelle Jones-Watson. Benedict Cumberbatch plays Dr. Stephen Strange.
No Way Home has no overtaken 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which made 247.966 million on opening weekend, as the third best opening of all time.
Jon Watts was the director of this film. Watts also directed Spider Man: Homecoming 2017 and Spider Man: far from home 2019 respectively. The film was directed by Jon Watts, who also directed Spider Man: Homecoming in 2017 and ‘Spider Man: Far From Home’ in 2019.
Spider Man: No Way Home is now the #3 most-watched movie in America after The Avengers. It has grossed $253 million.
Zendaya and Tom Holland star in the movie. It is expected to open worldwide for $500 million.
Holland exclaimed about the figures on Saturday, saying: ‘You made that possible. Thank you for all your support and love.
Holland shared the following Instagram comment on Saturday: “Wow, guys! I’m shocked at these numbers!” This was possible because of you. I am grateful for your love and support. Thank you thank you thank you and if you haven’t seen Spider-Man no way home yet… merry Christmas and you know what to do.’
Deadline reports that No Way Home may open a global market of $500 million without China.
The blog had previously reported that the film beat the likes of Avengers: Endgame and The Last Jedi in terms of its Thursday preview haul.
Previews used to be limited to late-night screenings. But they are now more common earlier in the morning. It began showing in 3,767 theaters at 3:00 p.m. that day.
After its Wednesday release, the movie broke all box office records in South Korea, Mexico and Britain.
The action film set a COVID-era opening day record in Korea with $5.28 million and became the UK’s best Wednesday launch ever as it brought home £7.63 million ($10.1M).
Spider-Man: No Way Home was Mexico’s biggest ever opening day, bringing home $9M on Wednesday. That is higher than Avengers: Endgame.
Spider Man’s alumn Tobey Mcguire and Andrew Garfield appear in the film. This is Sony’s largest opening.
After 2007’s Spider Man 3 with Tobey McGuire and its sequel, this film was Sony’s largest opener. Holland stars alongside Andrew Garfield (another former Spider Man).
After originally being scheduled for release on November 5 and July 16, this movie has been pushed back to release on December 17, instead of the previously set date.
‘A round of attaboys are in store for Sony’s distribution department on a smart, seismic calendar move,’ Deadline gushed.
It has displaced Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Force Awakens, which came out in 2015 to a $247.97 million opening weekend, according to Box Office Mojo. It grossed $936.7 million.
It sits behind the last to Avengers films, which opened to 257,698,183 in 2018 (Infinity Wars) and 357,115,007 in 2019 (Endgame).
It is notable that it surpasses McGuire’s Spider-Man 3 (directed by Sam Raimi) as Sony’s most successful opener over the past 14 year. 2007’s Spider-Man 3 opened to $151.1 million – 69 percent less than the latest Spider Man iteration.
No Way Home is now the number three highest opening movie in America, replacing Star Wars Episode VIII: The Force Awakens. This film premiered on February 27, 2015, to an estimated $247.97M.
No Way Home is receiving positive reviews by critics. The book scored a rating of 94 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes reviewaggregator and a 72 percent on Metacritic.
Many have been impressed by its casting and emotion, while others criticize its plot and running time.
It reaches the point when the difference between sincerity, cynicism and reality doesn’t matter anymore. This will be true for those with the right mindset. According to The Independent, that’s an art all by itself.
The New York Times wrote: ‘Like almost every Marvel production, this one is too long and, at two and a half hours, overstays its welcome. The movie is a snappy, poppy film.
The Atlantic said: ‘It’s a hectic series of plot twists and deus ex machinas that overturns an entire bucket of action figures and smashes them all together with delight. Although the film may be at a new low in cinema, it is a highly watchable movie.
Holland and Zendaya, the film’s stars are currently dating, even though their producers advised them not to.
Forbidden love? Tobidden love?
Pascal offered some words of wisdom: “I pulled Tom and Zendaya apart, individually, when they first cast them, and gave them an lecture,” Pascal stated. ‘Don’t go there — just don’t. See December 13th, LA.
The producer Amy Pascal apparently advised the pair, who were both 25 years old, to maintain their platonic relationships when they were cast as Spider-Man stars.
Pascal replied, “I set aside Tom and Zendaya separately when we cast them” ‘Don’t go there — just don’t. Do not try.
Andrew got the exact same advice. [Garfield]Emma [Stone]”,” the producer said. It can complicate matters, it seems. They all forgot about me.
Stone and Garfield first met at the film set for The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012. They were rumored to have been together in 2011 when Stone was cast in The Amazing Spider-Man.
The relationship between the current Spider-Man actors is quite new. They were seen kissing in Los Angeles in July, and they made their red carpet debut in September.
