Buckingham Palace will be the scene of a historical display that includes Spitfires and Red Arrow Hawks as well as a Lancaster bomber. 

As she looks out from her balcony, dozens of Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force aircraft will fly above the monarch at 96 years old.

The fleet will fly extended for six minutes and includes Typhoon fighter aircraft, Typhoon attack helicopters as well as surveillance and transport planes. 

This jaw-dropping show will include more than triple the amount of aircraft that took part in the event. The Queen’s final birthday flypast took place in central London on February 9, 2019.

After taking off from UK military bases, they will join holding patterns in the south-east. 

The next flight will take them down The Mall to meet the first group at Buckingham Palace at 11 o’clock.  

From the balcony, 18 members of the royal family will watch: Charles and Camilla; William & Kate; Charles and Camilla; William & Kate with George and Charlotte; Louis and Sophie; Edward and Sophie; Louise and James; Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

The 71 aircraft which will take part in today's flypast over Buckingham Palace to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Today’s Flypast Over Buckingham Palace will feature 71 of the aircraft that took part in yesterday’s flight over Buckingham Palace. This flypast is to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee 

Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew, Prince Andrew, and Prince Andrew’s children, Beatrice, and Eugenie will be absent. 

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, as well as the children of the Wessexes, Lady Louise Windsor, and James, Viscount Severn, will also be present at the historic event.

MoD stated that all types of aircraft, including those used by UK Armed Forces for operations in the global arena, would participate.

This display will feature helicopters from Royal Navy and Army, RAF and RAF that were seen recently responding to events such as those in Kabul or Ukraine.

Highlights from the history of RAF will be included in the flypast, which includes aircraft from Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

This will be followed by the Queen’s Birthday Parade, also known as Trooping the Colour. It is a military parade that involves 1,500 soldiers and officers along with 250 horses representing the Army’s Household Division at Horse Guards Parade.

This balcony appearance is often considered the centerpiece of major royal events, such as Trooping The Colour or weddings. It usually involves the Queen’s extended families gathering to view a flypast. Fans rarely get to see their entire extended family.

To avoid diplomatic pitfalls, Queen Elizabeth had to reduce the number to less than 12 people.

In tribute to the Queen, over 3,000 beacons across Britain and Commonwealth will be lit after the flypast.

This network of flaming tributes to the fallen will run throughout the country with beacons located at places such as the Tower of London or Windsor Great Park and Hillsborough Castle.

Tonga, Samoa, in the South Pacific and Belize in central America will have the first and last beacons lit.

The principal beacon outside the Palace – a 21-metre tall Tree of Trees sculpture for the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative – will be illuminated by a senior member of the royal family, and images will be projected on to the Palace.

The monarch hopes to attend St Paul’s Cathedral’s service of thanksgiving on Friday with her extended family, including Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Prince Andrew, after today’s events.

The Queen (96) is expected to also spend some time with the Sussexes. They are carrying their children Archie, Lilibet, and Lilibet from the US. Lilibet will be celebrating her first birthday Saturday.

On Sunday thousands will gather in the UK to celebrate the Queen’s 70-year reign.

Royal Family members are expected to visit the UK for official engagements over the weekend. William, Kate and Edward will travel to Wales and Northern Ireland respectively; Sophie and Sophie will be travelling to Northern Ireland. Anne and Anne will go to Scotland.
