Emma Tustin was given a life sentence with a minimum of 29 years for the murder of six-year-old Arthur Labinjo-Hughes on June 17, 2020. Arthur’s head was repeatedly hit on a hard surface by Emma Tustin, who then killed him.
Thomas Hughes and Tustin, her ex-partner, committed a ‘cruel campaign of cruelty’ to Arthur’s son. They made Arthur stand for as long as 14 hours per day and deprived him of food, water, and then poisoned him with salt.
Hughes, 29, was jailed for life with a minimum of 21 years after being found guilty of manslaughter – but cleared of murder – for encouraging the killing, including by sending a text message to Tustin 18 hours before the fatal assault telling her ‘just end him’.
But as it was revealed their ‘lenient’ prison sentences are set to be referred to the Attorney General, Tustin’s former cellmate Elaine Pritchard told the Sunday Mirror that Tustin never mentioned Arthur during the six weeks they shared a cell.
Boris Johnson, meanwhile, is believed to have directed a broad-based investigation into the death of the six year-old. This will include social services and schools, as well as probation watchdogs.

Emma Tustin’s ex-cellmate Elaine Pritchard claims that Tustin never discussed her stepson Arthur Labinjo -Hughes (pictured) during their six week period in a cell together
Elaine said that Arthur was in a room with Arthur’s mother, and Tustin stated to inmates that she was in Eastwood Park prison because Hughes her ex-partner had “neglected” his son.
Elaine, who was being sent back to prison due to battery and criminal damages, said that Emma had not mentioned Arthur’s death. He was never mentioned by her.
Elaine stated that she was only able to learn about Tustin’s accusations after looking through the case paperwork. She also claimed she got ‘angry’ reading about Arthur’s 130 bruises.
Tustin was allegedly the one who told her that Arthur didn’t notice his bruising when she gave him a bath. She then claimed she had asked Tustin why she hadn’t noticed it. Tustin replied she “gave Arthur a towel”.
Elaine, who also gave evidence at Tustin’s trial, added: ‘I pressed the bell and said if the prison officers didn’t get her out then I’d be staying there a long time.’

Emma Tustin was sentenced to a life term with at least 29 years in prison for Arthur’s killing on June 17, 2020. Thomas Hughes, his father was sentenced to life for manslaughter.

Elsewhere, was reported that the Prime Minister has ordered an investigation into Arthur’s death that will involve social services, police, schools and probation watchdogs.
The Times reports that the inquiry is designed to learn from the 6-year-old’s tragic death, and attempt to prevent another similar tragedy.
On Sunday, the investigation will be officially announced. Johnson said that he would leave no stone unturned during the inquiry.
According to reports, the wide-ranging investigation will examine whether safeguarding guidelines should be introduced for at-risk kids if future lockdowns are in place.
According to new figures, nearly 80% of respondents were satisfied with the results. It is possible that 50,000 children who were most vulnerable may not have been able to access social services in the Covid-19 epidemic.
The number of new cases referred to children’s services departments fell by 45,220 – or 7 per cent – from 2019-20 to 2020-21.
For the period March 2021 to March 2021 the total fell to 597760, which is the lowest number since 2013. However, 2018-19’s total was 650 930 before the pandemic.
According to the Department for Education, the drastic drop in school referrals was due to schools closing during lockdown.
Tim Loughton was a former child’s minister and stated that vulnerable children, such as Arthur Labinjo–Hughes, were more at risk because of the pandemic.
According to him, there was an increase in child abuse as they were not on radar.

The announcement that Hughes and Tustin received lenient prison sentences was made after the two were referred to Attorney General. This is to extend the time they are behind bars.
Thomas Hughes and Emma Tustin were each sentenced to more than 20 years for their role in Arthur’s death. However, they could be handed a much harsher sentence by Solihull MP Julian Knight who warned that their cases will be transferred onto Britain’s chief legal adviser.
Tustin received a life sentence of at least 29 years, while Hughes was sent to prison for life and a term of minimum 21 years. A parole board must consider Hughes’ case before granting her a life sentence.
But Mr Knight, speaking as he lay flowers outside the youngster’s home in Solihull, West Midlands on Saturday, said he intends to refer Tustin and Hughes’ case to the ‘unduly lenient sentencing scheme’ – meaning the pair’s time behind bars could be extended.
The horrifying video shows Arthur’s wicked stepmother munching on a McDonald’s takeout while the six year-old starves outside.
In June 2020, Hughes (29 and Tustin 32) can be seen eating ice cream at Hughes’ Solihull house in West Midlands. While the couple is relaxing on the couch, Arthur stands in the hallway wearing a lightweight onesie and sweatshirt in scorching temperatures as he watches.
Today thousands of fans marked Arthur’s brief life by giving a minute of cheers at a top-flight match, in very moving scenes that will be repeated at other football fields across the country.

Other clips were captured on couple’s security camera. Tustin is seen eating from two different McDonald’s boxes while Arthur, who’s starving, watches.
Hughes and Tustin starved Hughes and forced him to eat salty foods. They also made Tustin stand for 14 hours per day. This was in an unjust, cruel, and punishing regime that lasted the final painful months of Hughes’ life.
On Saturday, Mr Knight spoke out in Solihull, saying that there was a palpable feeling of loss and tragedy and, more importantly, anger. He also raised questions about how it could have happened, what the monsters had permission to do to this defenseless young boy.
“My opinion is quite simple. It is important to find out how it happened, and to hold the people responsible.
“But I believe anyone that reflected upon those sentences yesterday feels that they were too lighthearted. Therefore, my intent is to get this sent to the unduly mild sentencing program as quickly as possible. This will happen Monday morning.
The revelations come as neighbors reveal Tustin was violently chased by an ex-boyfriend who had been using a spade to dig a hole in her garden. This is just as Arthur, his dying days, struggled with the same turmoil.
CoventryLive was contacted by a neighbor who didn’t want to be identified. She claimed that Tustin had armed herself and chased off an ex-boyfriend with a spade from her garden.
A neighbor explained that her ex was a nutcase who had become a fruit loop. She was running after her ex down the road.

According to some reports, the ‘evil stepmother’ was also accused of having rowed with neighbors in dispute over cats.
The neighbour said that she had a panic attack about cats as soon as she arrived.
‘She was shouting ‘get your cats to stop s***ing on my driveway’. As though you were capable of doing that.
After a 6-year-old boy was tortured, starved, and beaten to death by his stepmother, social workers, teachers, and police are now facing serious questions.
Emma Tustin and Thomas Hughes, both 29, starved Arthur Labinjo Hughes and made him eat salty foods.
Tustin instantly took a photo of Arthur as he was dying, and immediately pulled out her phone so she could send it to her boyfriend.
She called 911 and informed the operator Arthur had shaved his head.
After police arrived at her Solihull home, the self-pitying stepmother cried and tried to convince them the stick-thin boy had attacked her – while several miles away he lay dying in hospital.
After his life support had been turned off, his body was declared dead. The catastrophic nature of the injuries meant that there wasn’t much they could do to save him.
Concerned relatives reported bruises to the council. Angela Scarlett and Jayne Kavanagh, social workers, visited Tustin’s house. They found no problems after performing cursory checks.
Hughes and Tustin had instructed Arthur and another Tustin child to pretend that Arthur’s injuries were caused by a playfight.
Arthur had died from a head injury that was deemed ‘unsurvivable’ by Tustin just one day prior to this. He could not even hold water in his mouth for a full glass of water.

On Friday, Justice Mark Wall QC jailed Tustin & Hughes. He said that Hughes’ cruel abuse of Tustin was ‘without doubt the most distressing & disturbing case I’ve ever had to deal’.
Arthur, he said: “He was a happy and healthy young man.” He liked his food and enjoyed school. He was a fan of cricket and football, and loved spending time with his extended families.
He had taken so many salt pills that it was impossible to measure the sodium levels in his blood. You must have been giving him smaller amounts of salt over a period.
It is why Arthur keeps crying out for food and rejects the food you have prepared. That explains the reason you have been restricting Arthur’s access to water for quite some time.
“He was completely cut off from all his family. He had to be left alone and be alone for the majority of his day, which meant he was unable to interact with the outside world.
“He had to be made to lie down on the floor, without any mattress.
“In Arthur’s last three months, he suffered the worst suffering from both you and him.
“You told lies to hide what was going on in the house.”
Hughes responded by saying: “You researched pressure point Arthur first and then you did it. It wasn’t in a playful manner as you suggest, but to try and cause the maximum amount of pain while causing minimal injury.
