The fire in Stoke has sparked a massive emergency response.
Thick smoke and flames can be seen pouring from one of the top floors of the building in the Hanley area of the city.
Eyewitnesses saw an ambulance land in the centre of the city. Reports suggest that eight firefighters responded to the fire.
Witnesses say the fire began at 7.10 a.m. this morning.
One resident, who lives nearby, told StokeLive: ‘My son sent me a message to say there’d been a fire.
“I saw the entire emergency service when I went to go. It’s my sincere hope that everyone is safe. I’ve never seen this amount of emergency services here before.’
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service stated in a statement that they were responding to reports of a flat-fire on Ringland Close (#Hanley) at 7.10am Saturday 26 March.

An enormous fire broke out in Stoke’s block of flats, prompting an emergency response.
“Eight paramedics and officers from Staffordshire Police attended the scene, along with eight other crews.
“Multiple breathing apparatuses, main jets, and an aerial ladder platform were all used to put out the flames.
No one was seriously injured, and the residents were evacuated from nearby flats.
“We work with Stoke-on-Trent City Council and key partnering agencies, as well as nearby residents. The scene will be attended by a structural engineer from Stoke-on-Trent City Council.
A thorough investigation is currently underway.
