Rhys Stephenson was the 11th star to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing when he and Nancy Xu were sent back home Sunday.

28-year-old TV host landed among John Whaite, Great British Bake Off star and Johannes Radebe in the bottom 2. 

Both couples performed their chosen routines again with Rhys and Nancy Xu dancing their Samba to It Had Better Be Tonight (Meglio Stasera) by Michael Bublé.

John and Johannes did their Jive To Higher Power by Coldplay in an effort to impress judges and get into the final.

Following the dances, both partners were adjudged.

Craig Revel Horwood chose to save John and Johannes, saying: ‘In all the years I’ve been doing the show since 2004, I really do not want to make this decision tonight.

“This was one of the best dance contests that I have ever seen. Both are equally worthy and deserve the experience. It’s not permitted for me to do this so I must choose.

“I am going to the technical side, and that’s about clean finishes. John and Johannes, I would like to make it to the final.

Motsi Motsi mabuse decided that John and Johannes should be saved. It was very hard for me to make this decision but I am going to save John & Johannes.

Anton Du Beke chose also to save John & Johannes and added: “Like Motsi & Craig, I would have you both at the final. 

My friend Rhys was out dancing and it felt good for her. John was there and I thought “Here we go.” Then, I looked at the picture and thought, “Here we go!” My nod tonight goes to John and Johannes in this even competition.

Rhys commented that although he might not have made it to the Final, “I learned so much just by being here and all of those present who’ve just supported me in this new family.”

John and Johannes received three votes each, which meant that they won the majority vote. Nancy and Rhys would then be out of the contest. 

Shirley Ballas Head Judge stated that she would agree with her fellow judges to save John and Johannes.

Shirley replied: “Yes it was quite close, but I would not have saved John nor Johannes.”

Tess asked Rhys about their experiences on The Apprentice. Rhys responded that while they might not have made it to the finale, he learned so much just by being on the show and the support of everyone. 

“To spend time with this dancer champion [Nancy]Thank you for everything. I am grateful for your energy. 

He said, “To be able to spend time with this champion of dancers.” [Nancy]I am grateful to you all for your support. You just let my energy shine.

Nancy said: 'You've become stronger and stronger every week. And thank you [Rhys] for being an amazing dancer partner. My first year, it has been absolutely epic'

Nancy said: ‘You’ve become stronger and stronger every week. We are grateful [Rhys]for being an outstanding partner dancer. This has been my very first year.

“Thanks for being such a great partner. It is Xu YouJie, so I will use that name. Nancy XuYouJie, thank you for being my rock, and all the help I need to make it through this. We are grateful.

Nancy was then asked what words she would have for Rhys. 

“You are stronger each week. We are grateful [Rhys]thanks for being such a great partner. It was my first year.

John and Johannes, who were saved by Rose Ayling Ellis, Giovanni Pernice, AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington will all be in next week’s final.  

Final: With John and Johannes saved, they will join Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice and AJ Odudu and Kai Widdrington in next week’s final
