Things took a breathtaking turn during Saturday’s Strictly Come Dancing as deaf actress Rose Ayling-Ellis and her partner Giovanni Pernice incorporated a ‘silent moment’ during their routine.

The EastEnders star, 26, and the Italian dancer, 31, performed a Couple’s Choice to Symphony by Clean Bandit featuring Zara Larsson, a stunning segment of which wasn’t performed to any music. 

An emotional Anton Du Beke, 55, branded the moment ‘the greatest thing he’s ever seen on the show.’

Shirley Ballas, the head judge at the 61-year-old court, spoke out to be proud of the routine, telling the two: ‘This number will stay in my mind for a long time.

Motsi Mambase (40), expressed gratitude to Rose, who added the innovative element to the dance for the benefit of the deaf communities.

‘Thank you. It was a wonderful moment for us to be included in your world.

Their 39 score was almost perfect, which put the couple on cloud nine.

Giovanni stated, “The positive energy she gave me in one day is beyond my imagination,” Rose added, and Giovanni then said: “Thanks to Strictly, I was able to share my story.”

After the memorable routine, Twitter was full of emotion. 

Rose received a tweet from a fan that sympathized with Rose: “I am in tears!” [crying face]It can sometimes be hard to convey what it feels like to live with deafness. While I may not be completely deaf, my hearing is very poor. I sometimes feel isolated because I can’t participate in many jokes or conversations. This can make it lonely.

Another used the microblogging site to show their appreciation: ‘That was just breathtaking thank you both @RoseAylingEllis and @pernicegiovann1 it was mesmerising and such a special moment what you are doing rose is so inspirational ❤ xx’.

Elsewhere, tearful Rhys Stephenson received a perfect score for his routine with partner Nancy Xu, with Motsi declaring it the ‘best Charleston we have seen’.

Presenter AJ Odudu (33), and Kai Widdrington performed the Pasodoble To Game Of Survival By Ruelle. This performance didn’t impress the judges as much as their Charleston, which topped the leaderboard at 39.

The score they received was 28 less than in the previous week. They are now at the bottom.

Tilly Ramsey (age 20) and Nikita Kuzmin (23) were involved in a dance competition last week. They wanted to get over it when they took the Quickstep to I Won’t Dance from Damitajo.

The judges gave them 29 points, with each judge agreeing that there were some improvement. 

Journalist Dan Walker scored his first 9 with Nadiya Bychkova, following their American Smooth to King Of The Road by The Proclaimers

‘I don’t get nines!’ he joked, ecstatic about the news.

Elsewhere in Strictly news, it was reported on Saturday that Katya Jones threatened to quit her role on the show after landing in the dance off with partner Adam Peaty.

After the professional dancers were removed from the show on Sunday, the 32-year-old is said to believe that the public has it in her.

Katya appears disappointed at not finishing the first half of her 2017 victory with Joe McFadden.

Rumours say that she is concerned about her public score because of the criticism from Sean Walsh, her partner in 2018, her Russian birth mother.

Charlie Stayt from BBC Breakfast asked Adam his thoughts on the remarks during a Thursday interview. Adam replied: “Mums always support their own.” You know what mums do, she wanted me to be there every Saturday.
