One student nurse described being stalked and threatened by a neighbor who would pay her for sex. He also licked the windows of his house when she went to leave.

Eleanor Maddison, 23, ordered some medical books for her course in January this year, but was on a nursing placement when the package arrived at her house in Salford, Greater Manchester, so it was left with neighbour Jehad Khan, 46.

Perverted Khan then began messaging Ms Maddison, sending sexually explicit messages and pictures, declaring his love, and offering to pay her £200 for sex.

Ms Maddison told him to leave her alone, but Khan persisted, and eventually she threatened to tell the police.

She did not hear from him for two weeks and thought her ordeal was over, but in early February Khan sent Ms Maddison her own WhatsApp profile photo with a love heart on it, along with a message saying ‘F*** you b****’ and A photo of a penis.

Ms Maddison claimed that she later spoke to the police who were ‘aware of Khan’ and arrested Khan that day.

Khan was brought before Tameside magistrates on October 20, 2121. He was convicted for harassment and malicious communications.

Eleanor Maddison left ordered books to help her study in January but she was already on a placement as a nurse when it arrived at her Salford home. She was so busy that the package was delivered to her neighbour Jehad Khan right.

The 12-month-old was given a community order and a 12-month order to restrain him. He also received 20 days of rehabilitation along with 240 hours unpaid work.

Maddison felt too stressed to stay in her house so she moved into a block that had 24 hour security. Her phone number was also changed.

PETITION BY ELEANOR MADISON FOR STOP PHONE NUMBERS ON PACKAGES

Eleanor Maddison has started a petition to stop mobile phone numbers being printed on parcels following her ordeal.

Because she was too upset by the event to remain at her house, she had to move and change her number.

Her petition, now with more than 400 signatures calling for the removal of phone numbers from packages, asks: “How often have parcels been delivered by your neighbours?” It’s likely that there are many!

“We don’t know who will get your information.

“The purpose of this petition is to prevent mobile numbers from being placed on parcels. To protect others, I ask anyone reading it to sign.

“I don’t want anyone else to experience what I went through, it has had a negative impact on my studies, mental health, and I have spent much money in order to protect myself and move to a new house.

“I’m aware that not all of my neighbours will be like him. But you never know.”

The petition was started by her to end the printing of mobile numbers on parcels, and protect others from similar situations.

Ms Maddison stated that this could have all been avoided had my number not been included on the package. This is why I am starting a campaign to prevent this from happening again.

The messages were inappropriate and sexually explicit and were sent by Khan dozens upon dozens. “I dread thinking about how the whole thing might have ended if I hadn’t called the police, then moved into my new home.

In October 2020, Ms Maddison (student nurse) moved in with a friend to a house for students in Salford.

According to her, “We love the house. The street seems OK.” It was very easy to settle in.

Eleanor, however, ordered medical books in January 2021 for her course. When the delivery arrived she was already on a nursing assignment, so Jehad Khan, her neighbor, left it.

Ms Maddison stated that Jehad Khan had called to inform me that he received my parcel. I made arrangements to pick it up the next evening. He was the first time I had met him, so I thanked him for his kindness and that was it. When I opened the parcel, I noticed that the label contained my mobile number.

Khan, later in the night, messaged Maddison, saying “Goodnight love. I’m going work.”

Ms Maddison stated that he sent love heart messages and continued to ignore the message. He then asked me if I wanted to go on a date with him. I told him I had a boyfriend, to try to put him off, but instead he offered me £100 to go on a date with him.

“He was in his forties and was middle-aged. I didn’t think he was appropriate.

He replied, “I wasn’t concerned at all but then I realized he was really in love with you and sent me a picture of two people kissing in underwear. After I requested him to let me go, he showed me a photo of a man having oral sex with a woman. I was really disturbed by it.

“He was sending about fifteen messages at once. I was right next to his house and would often see him gazing at me as I left.

“On one occasion, when he was in his room, he knocked on my window to grab my attention. He then started licking the windows as he looked at me. That really made me feel sick.

‘Then he messaged offering me £200 for sex and said I was ”hot” and ”sexy”. I repeatedly asked him to quit harassing and leave me alone.

Ms Maddison, a student nurse, moved into a student house with a friend in October 2020

Student nurse Ms Maddison moved into a house in October 2020 with a close friend.

My housemate and I worked in different shifts. I found it unsafe to be alone at home, and so my roommate was also working. He wouldn’t see me so I made sure the blinds were closed. My home was uncomfortable for me.

Ms Maddison spoke out to her family and friends, who encouraged Maddison to get in touch with police.

She said, “I sent him an official message saying that if I ever received a message from him again, I would phone the police.” Fast two weeks passed without me hearing from him and I thought that my entire ordeal was finished.

“But, in February 2021, he sent me a message and sent me my photo with a heart from what’sapp. Then he sent a photo saying: ”F*** you b****.”

“Next was a picture of a penis which turned my stomach.

“I spoke with the police and they confirmed Khan’s existence. They arrested Khan that day.”

Ms Maddison said that he stared at her at the windows before he moved me out of his house. He seemed to not have taken the court case seriously.

The petition was started by her to get rid of all phone numbers in parcels.

Ms Maddison stated that she did not wish for anyone else to experience what she went through. This has had a negative impact on my studies and mental health, and I have worried about my friends and family.

“I spent lots of money on moving and protection, when it could all have been avoided.

“Taking numbers from parcels is an important step in keeping women safe.”
