An ex-PE teacher was accused of having sex at prom with a student. He has now returned to social media and posted videos showing yoga, assuring that viewers can start fresh.

Following an investigation into Melissa Tweedie’s behaviour towards a teenager pupil, the General Teaching Council for Scotland(GTCS) removed her from its teaching register in February.

According to some reports, the 28-yearold was seen sleeping with the 18 year-old in the days following the SWG3 school leavers event in Glasgow in June 2017.

While she denied engaging in sex with the student, her actions were found to be inappropriate.

Following the allegation, the former Gleniffer High School teacher in Paisley (Renewshire) moved to Dubai and then locked down her social media accounts during the hearing.

Tweedie, however, returned to social media months later to share meditation videos and classes online. She had changed her career to be a Dubai yoga instructor.

“Bring your hands to your heart, and then close your eyes. It is all about feeling. Your heartbeat should be felt and connected.

“The rhythm of the heart”

“Where else can you feel the pulse of your body?

“Feeling you, feel grateful for your healthy, happy heartbeat. Healthy body is what I want.

“Feeling thankful for the high hat that your breath can bring you. You can say this out loud, it is my joy.

“Have fun, lots of love and see you soon.

Melissa Tweedie, 27, has built a new life for herself among ex-pats in Dubai since losing her job

Melissa Tweedie is 27, and has since lost her job. She now lives with ex-pats living in Dubai.

Tweedie was seen drinking with the pupils at the bar and dancing indecently during school prom 2017.

The 18-year old pupil saw her on a bed next to him, and claimed they had sex. He then consumed wine, vodka, shots, beer, and whiskey.

The hearing was told that her headteacher David Nicholls was called at 1.45am by an ‘alarmed’ teenager who claimed to have spotted her with Pupil A at the hotel.

Since then, Mr Nicholls has retired and drove to Premier Inn. He was allowed only into foyer, where Miss Tweedie is his name.

He claimed he had finally reached her via her cell phone but she said that she was still at her home.

Investigators later found out that she had been in bed with the pupil. She admitted this to them, but also denied ever having sex.

Miss Tweedie claimed that she went to the hotel only because she was worried about students taking drugs after she had seen a bag full of cocaine.

Investigators later discovered that she had admitted to her waking up in the same bed as the pupil. She also claimed she might have been spiked.

A General Teaching Council of Scotland panel ruled that the pupil’s claim that he had sex with her was not proven by the evidence presented.

The panel agreed that she had kissed Pupil A and shared a bed alone with him.

Following a panel’s finding that her conduct was not up to the standards expected from a teacher registered, she received a removal notice.

The incident was reported to Police Scotland, who found no evidence of criminality.
