You can see the reckless driver twice, giving the officers the slip and narrowly missing hitting another car while he is driving on the wrong side.

Following a six-minute pursuit, he crashed into both police cars.

Nicholson of Carlton-in-Lindrick in Nottinghamshire can be then seen trying to continue to ram police before jumping into his backseat pretending he was not driving.

His charges included driving under the influence, dangerous driving and driving with no insurance.

According to court records, during the rampage, he went around the blind curve on the wrong road side, drove through red lights, passed a stop sign, and almost ran over a pedestrian.

Nicholson, who pleaded guilty at Nottingham Crown Court to the charges against him was sentenced to nine-months in prison with an 18 month suspended.

The judge also ordered Nicholson to stop driving for 15 more months, and required him to take a program in thinking and rehabilitation. Nicholson was subject to a three month tagged curfew.

Police began their chase at midnight on Old London Road, Ranby. They saw a Toyota Avensis they believed was driven using cloned plates.

He was arrested and charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and driving without insurance

His charges included dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and driving without insurance.

He was also banned from driving for 15 months and ordered him to complete a thinking skills programme and 20 rehabilitation days

The judge also prohibited him from driving for 15 more months, and required that he complete a program to improve his thinking and undergo 20 days of rehabilitation.

After passing Barnby Moor, he continued on to Blyth. Police were eventually able stop him there, even though both his squad cars sustained severe damage during pursuit.

One of the pursuer officers was PC James McClintock of Nottinghamshire Police’s Road Crime team.

He stated that this was the most dangerous driving he had ever seen in his 17-years as a policeman.

“Nicholson was a risk-taker driving as he did, and traveling at such high speeds. It was sheer luck that nobody was injured.

I am thankful that this happened late at night and the roads were quieter.

“It was definitely a relief to get him stopped as he showed complete disregard for the road and us. And I’m happy that he’s been dealt with by courts.

“It is a reminder that officers are well-trained tactical pursuit drivers, and it’s only a matter time before they run out of luck.
