Witnesses shocked by the incident described how a red SUV raced down the street and hurled bodies high into the air. It narrowly missed a girl, before killing several people at a Milwaukee Christmas parade on Sunday. 

The scene was described by witnesses as disturbing. As the car barrelled down Waukesha’s parade route, it ran over many people. 

Paradegoers recalled a chaotic scene with ‘crumpled bodies’, broken limbs and ‘fragments brains’, as so many were injured or killed in the street. 

In another heart-stopping moment, a video from the scene showed a young girl dressed in all pink dancing along to the music on the side of the street  as the red SUV approaches at speed behind her. The car missed her by inches, as she was yelled at in the crowd.

Moments later, the car collided with the crowd, leaving five people dead and injuring 40, including several  children who were rushed to six different hospitals in the area.

According to police, a person of interest has been taken into custody.

Waukesha police chief Dan Thompson said that he was investigating a “person of interest” at the moment. Thompson stated that an SUV drove into crowd around 4:39pm, 39 minutes after parade began.

Brayden Kolski (a Waukesha native aged 19) stated that he witnessed ‘bodies flying all around’ while at the parade.

Kowalski stated to Fox News that he was blowing through people and kind of dinging lots of people. He also said bodies were flying all over the place. ‘These people didn’t get run over, they got f**king thrown through the air. As a result, a lot more people were lifted into the air. 

He stated that he could clearly see brain fragments. “There were quite some people with broken arms, like many people screaming with their broken legs. It was horrible. 

Melinda, a 36-year-old kindergarten teacher, told the New York Post she was watching the parade from her apartment on West Main Street when she saw the red SUV speed through the crowd. 

Melinda recalled, “I ran downstairs, it was just children on ground and everyone freaking,” Melinda. ‘Everyone was screaming and crying…it happened so quickly.’

Police arrived on the scene quickly Sunday after terrified witnesses reported a horrifying scene, including ‘crumpled’ bodies and broken legs as many people were struck by the vehicle’s speed. 

“It was chaos. This is not the place to expect anything like that. It’s Waukesha. You are safe. That’s what you won’t find here.

She saw “a little girl getting hit and fly” in the Five Points region from her window.  

Melinda Schultz (33), of Waukesha was watching the parade as it began. She saw a vehicle racing towards the parade route and she said that the NYPost had just seen a red car speed down the street while the parade was still going.

“We believed it might have been an unmarked cop.” “All of a sudden, we realized this was not the case,” she said. “People shouted, “Move, Move, Move!” to clear the path. 

Corey Montiho (a Waukesha district school board member) told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel his daughter’s dancing team was struck by the SUV.

“There were shoes and pom-poms everywhere and there was hot chocolate everywhere.” He stated that he had to travel from one crumpled person to another to find his daughter.

‘My wife was almost killed by my daughters. Pray for everyone. We ask for prayers.

Angelito Tenorio of West Allis is running as Wisconsin State Treasurer. He told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the SUV came speeding through the parade area.

Tenorio stated, “Then, we heard a loud boom, followed by deafening cries from those who were struck by the vehicle.”

“And then, we saw people running off or crying. And then there were people lying on the ground that looked as if they had been struck by the vehicle.

Tenorio claimed that about 10 people were on the ground and appeared to be hit by the car.

“It just happened so quickly,” he stated. It was very horrifying.

The Wisconsin Christmas Parade turned into a deadly accident on Sunday. Police were called to inspect the route.

There were numerous families there, and many small children. CNN’s Kaylee Staral was an eyewitness to the parade and shared her story with CNN. 

Staral said that her family was standing outside a shop when the SUV drove through the parade.

Staral was an intern with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel newspaper. She said that the SUV drove in the paradegoers around 20-30 minutes after the celebrations began.

Staral stated that there were many screams. “We believed it to be Santa but the vehicle was red and hit several people.

Staral replied that there were “multiple people” on the ground moments later. Staral later stated that about 20 people were on the ground.

Staral stated that Staral had also reported police that shots were fired. However, Staral did not provide any further details.

It was not clear whether the driver said anything, as he was driving’very fast’ with a lot of screaming.

Staral explained that, while Staral isn’t sure if the driver intended to cause harm or not, Staral noted that the car was speeding and in the middle-of-the parade.

She said, “It’s certainly not as if they somehow missed the parade being held,”

Staral stated that Staral was pleased to announce the holiday parade for the second year in a row after the COVID-19 pandemic forced it to be cancelled last year.

According to reports, the car drove down the parade route, killing at most five people, and injuring at least forty others. 

Other footage from the deadly scene showed red SUV collide into a group of people marching in the middle of the street during the annual holiday parade in Waukesha, some 20 miles west of downtown Milwaukee. 

According to the official account on social media of the City, Waukesha, the parade began at 4:00 PM local time. 

At the corner of Pleasant Street and Main Street, began the parade route. The parade route runs westward along Main Street, ending at Wisconsin Avenue.

Live streaming of the parade took place on Facebook. 

The Waukesha Police department issued a push warning to residents of the area at 7:15 p.m. local time asking them to take refuge if they are within a 50-mile radius from the five points downtown. 

The incident comes just two days after Kyle Rittenhouse, the accused Kenosha shooter, was acquitted of murder charges in the deaths of two men during the unrest that erupted last year in the wake of a police shooting of a black man. Kenosha is located about 55 miles south of Waukesha

Locals tend to an injured paradegoer in Waukesha, Wisconsin on Sunday night after the horrific incident

On Sunday evening, Waukesha’s locals helped an injured paradegoer after the terrible incident.

Several people who attended the parade are seen in the aftermath of the incident in Waukesha on Sunday

Many people were present at the Waukesha incident on Sunday.

As the investigation continues, law enforcement officers are asking residents to stay away from downtown Waukesha. Metro Transit Center is also a place for family reunions, located near Bank Street. 

Another witness posted: “Right before my family, the man drives through the parade hitting all the people he can while also shooting out of the window.

He ran over several elderly ladies who had been dancing in the parade. Please pray for Waukesha.

He added that Waukesha had some of our most lovely families and friends.

Although this parade is one our most touching events, it isn’t the America my cousins, aunts, uncles, and parents want.

‘WHAT THE F***.’

Angela O’Boyle resides on the fifth floor in an apartment that overlooks the parade route.

CNN reported that she had been on her balcony and was watching the procession.

She said, “Then I heard screams. Then, I turned my head to see the car coming and smash into the band which was passing my balcony.”

She said, “It struck at least two people immediately and rolled over them.”

‘And then continued down the road to People’s Park, which is at the end of the block – and then kept going, it didn’t stop.’

Boyle says that people shouted, and parents shouted the names of their children.

“It was not what I desired to see.”

Fox6 TV TV news correspondent tweeted images from the scene.

Sam Kraemer tweeted the following: “The Waukesha Sheriff’s Office Incident Command Post is located on-site.

“There are bag chairs along Main Street and a lot of candy left behind. We were told by another man that he had heard several shots before running for cover.

“He was nearly hit by the SUV while it pulled in.” 

Classes have been cancelled by the Waukesha Schools District on Monday  

According to the website of the school district, “The District will provide additional counseling services for any student or staff that requires them,”
