Dutzends of high-street British retailers announced vegan menus after more than half a billion people signed up to plant-based living for January.
Papa John’s now offers a vegan pizza, while Burger King is offering vegan nuggets.
The nation is cutting more and more meat and dairy from their diets, with Deliveroo revealing a 117 per cent increase in orders of vegan food in the last year.
The food delivery giant reported that the first week of January 2021 witnessed a 153% increase in search results for vegan food on the app, compared with the previous month. This is because Veganuary has been celebrated across Britain.

PAPA JOHN’S – Vegan Sausage, Pepperoni Pizza and Cheesy Chicken Bites
Papa John’s will be welcoming Veganuary, with a limited-edition Vegan Sausage & Pepperoni Pizza and the introduction of the all-new Cheesy Chili bites to the menu starting on the 31st.
In true Veganuary style, the pizza delivery chain has welcomed back its much-loved Vegan Sausage & Pepperoni pizza to the menu. The delicious vegan pizza comes with chunks of vegan sausage and jackfruit “pepperoni” slices.
The all-new Cheesy Chilli bites are served in portions of eight, filled with an oozing mozzarella-style cheese and chipotle chilli wrapped in a crispy batter – a hot new addition to its vegan side offering.
Papa John’s welcomes Veganuary by offering a limited edition Vegan Sausage, Pepperoni Pizza and the new Cheesy Chicken Bits. The menu will launch on 31 January.
Pizza enthusiasts can indulge in a wide selection of vegan pizzas including The Stinger, Vegan Garden Party, and The Jackfruit Pepperoni. PETA has also awarded The Vegan Works the Best Vegan Pizza Award.
For those looking to indulge in a dairy-free ‘cheesy’ treat, Papa John’s has a selection of delicious sides available from Vegan Cheese Potato Tots (also available with Jalapeño) and Vegan Cheese Marmite Scrolls. If that isn’t enough cheese, vegans can also add the delicious melt-in-the mouth Vegan Cheese Stuffed Crust on any pizza.
Pizza fans can tuck into a meat-free feast this Veganuary and enjoy 50 per cent off vegan pizzas, sides, and ice cream for the whole of January – with two Ben & Jerry’s Dairy-Free flavours to choose from.

Domino’s has launched the Vegan PepperoNAY, a delicious treat for those who love plant-based pizza.
Domino’s homemade vegan dough, hand-rolled and baked to perfection. The sauce is layered with Domino’s vine-ripened tomatoes, topped with Domino’s vegan cheese, then sprinkled generously with Domino’s vegan pepperoni.
The Vegan PepperoNAY is served with the much-loved Vegan Friendly version of the cult-favourite Garlic & Herb dip, so foodie fans can enjoy the full dunking experience.
The Domino’s Vegan menu now offers four options for vegan pizzas: The Chick-Ain’t Vegan Margherita, Vegan Vegi Supreme, Vegan PepperoNAY, and Vegan Margherita.

Nando’s Spiced Chickpea Burger will be joined by the return of the restaurant’s original fan favourite Mango & Lime PERi-ometer spice which will be landing on the PERi-ometer for a limited time only, replacing Nando’s seasonal Clementine spice.

MCDONALD’S: McPlant goes nationwide
McDonald’s will roll-out of its plant-based offering, the McPlant, to all restaurants across the UK and Ireland from Wednesday 5th January 2022, following a successful trial at over 250 restaurants last year.
The impressive McPlant, which took over three years to develop, features a patty co-developed with Beyond Meat® and has already proved hugely successful with McDonald’s customers.

WAGAMAMA: Vegetarian Fish and Chops
Wagamama’s launch of the UK’s first ever plant-based highstreet has thrilled fans Veganuary attracts thousands to Britain, who love fish and chips.
The Japanese-inspired dish is called TempuraFish+Bang Bang Yaki-imo. It is a delicious Japanese-inspired take on the British traditional.
Lightly tempura coated fish, otherwise known as beer battered, is being replaced with light-colored, lightly seasoned ‘fish’ made of soy, pea, and rice proteins. This replicates the fish’s flavor and texture.
Tempura Fish + Bang Bang Yaki -imo is a Japanese-inspired take on the British traditional. It is available starting today. The new dish costs £12.95 and available in restaurant, on Deliveroo and through click and collect for just one month only at all UK restaurants, excluding Northern Ireland.
Wagamama offers its version of a chip, with roasted sweet potato chunks, red onions, and wagama’s famed firecracker glaze.
The traditional trimmings of wagamama are still available, but they’re done in a different way. For example, wagama’s unique take on mushy beans, smashed minty edamame beets make for wagama’s take on mushypeas. They come with katsu sauce, waga Tartara with Japanese Pickles and chilli.
As a tribute to the traditional British way of life, it is served on a paper mockup and a plate.

MARKS & SPENCER: 175 new vegan products
The upmarket high street retailer now has 175 vegan products in its range, as hundreds of thousands of Brits sign up to go meat and dairy free for January.
Among the new items includes a Plant Kitchen Tikka Masala, which uses the same cooking techniques as the chicken version with 12 fragrant, balanced spices, creamy coconut milk, flame-grilled onions, roasted squash and cauliflower.
Also in the range is the Plant Kitchen Lasagne, which M&S chefs have taken a year to perfect. Described as an umami flavour bomb, it brings savoury richness to the ragu, combined with a creamy vegan béchamel and topped with Santarella tomatoes.

COSTA: Vegan Macaroni Cheeze and Vegan BBQ Chick’n Panini,
Costa Coffee welcomes the Vegan Macaroni Cheeze. The new vegan macaroni cheeze will be made with soft pasta, creamy vegan cheeze sauce and fresh green spinach. All topped with a light parsley crumb.

STARBUCKS: Oat Lattes and Tu’NAH sandwich
Starbucks has also unveiled its new winter menu full of indulgent hot drinks and sweet treats for a mouthwatering start to the New Year.
The new additions, which will be available across the UK from January 5, include three oat latte flavours, all available for £3.35: strawberry & vanilla, honey & hazelnut and dark cocoa & orange oat.
This announcement comes just as Starbucks announces it won’t charge more for milk alternatives in its efforts to reduce environmental impact.
