Elizabeth Debicki effortlessly channelled Princess Diana once again when recently filming new scenes for series five of Netflix’s The Crown in Croydon, London.

The Australian actress, 31, who is taking over the role from Emma Corrin, sported the late royal’s signature blonde locks while cutting a stylish figure in an oversized military-style black jacket and matching black-and-white striped trousers.

Photographs taken last week show Elizabeth pushing through paparazzi while she was in South London.

It is not clear what particular scene was being film for the drama. However, Crown’s fifth series will be about the Royal Family’s past through the 1990s. 

The Netflix smash hit The Crown was well-known for its ability to twist facts to its own narrative. Some critics were outraged by its revision of history, relationships, and other historical events.

Her glamorous look is complete with black sunglasses and natural makeup.

Although it’s not clear which of Diana’s outfits this scene is trying to replicate, the costumes department at the Costume Department was well-known for their elegant display in many sophisticated ensembles. 

The exact scene that was filmed in Princess Diana’s room is not known. It is also unclear if the Netflix series has taken artistic licence with the royal. 

The Royal Family from the 1990s through 2003 will be the focus of the last two seasons of The Crown. In the fourth season, the crew will continue the story. 

The breakdown of Charles and Diana’s relationship will be a central part of the new series.  The story of Charles’ early love with Diana was told in The Crown 4, which aired November 2013.

It was announced last year that Elizabeth would take over from Emma Corrin and play Diana for the fifth and sixth series, which will cover Diana's death in 1997

Meanwhile  Dodi Fayed is expected to play a large part in the next series of The Crown, with British actor Khalid Abdalla, 39, who starred in the 2007 film The Kite Runner, cast in the role. 

The Crown’s final series will focus on the Royal Family’s history through the 1990s and 2003. However, it is still not known which moments will be shown.
