When she walked alongside the monarch, she completed her outfit with white jeans and comfy trainers.

Camilla met Dylan Kilpatrick, 16, and Amanda Fishlock from Cornwall. They had brought along Robert Ponsonby Staples’ painting of their ancestor. It depicted a family going on a beachside excursion.

Ms Fishlock stated that the artist was a relative from her mother’s family, which is why the painting ended up in the Fishlock household.

Dylan was asked by Camilla what she thought about the painting. She said that she was jealous and she liked the figure at the foreground.

Antiques Roadshow expert Frances Christie gave the painting a valuation of between £300 and £500.

Camilla spoke also with Sandra Matthews (77), who had brought along a book of prayers that she believed once belonged the 19th-century French actress Sarah de Bernhardt.

Ms Matthews stated that the book was purchased by her 30 years earlier and she found the actress’ name on the flyleaf.

Ms Matthews explained that Camilla was very interested as she knew Sarah de Bernhardt.

Camilla was also able to meet with Christopher Thorp who used to be a cabinet maker and had an 1811 book that contained prices for furniture published by the London Cabinet Makers Union.

Thorp said that the Duchess had asked about his trade, and also his fascination with the history of the craft.
