“Transporting viewers back to the heights of Italian opulence in the 1990s, Villa Balbiano was the location of Aldo Gucci’s ancestral home.

It was once owned by Cardinal Tolomeo Galio who constructed it in the latter half of 16th-century and made it his principal residence. The palazzo was expanded and embellished by Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini, a century later.

House of Gucci – Ridley Scott directed the film and stars Adam Driver, Jared Leto and Jack Huston. It is available in UK cinemas starting November 24, and the US beginning November 26.

But it wasn’t well-received by critics. Brian Viner of the Daily Mail described it as a “muddle”, with both tone and narrative being confused.
