President Joe Biden went directly after Vladimir Putin in an emotional speech on Saturday, where he said the Russian president ‘cannot remain in power’ and warned if Putin’s ambitions went unchecked it could lead to decades of war in Europe.
He said that Putin cannot stay in power for God’s sake, and described Putin as having a “crave for absolute power”
The Kremlin was furious at this quote, and the White House swiftly clarified it. Biden had not called for Moscow’s regime change.
“The President was stating that Putin should not be permitted to exert power over the neighbors and/or region. A White House official stated that he was not talking about Putin’s Russian power or the possibility of regime change.
Because Putin will see this as an escalated situation, the Biden administration made sure to avoid calling for Russia regime changes.
Dmitry Peskov (Kremlin spokesperson) responded to reporters that the Kremlin did not decide this. “It should only come down to the Russian Federation.
Biden made these remarks after visiting some of more than 3,000,000 Ukrainians, who had been forced to flee war-torn Ukraine. He also visited Lviv in the Ukrainian capital as Russia dropped bombs on it. This was just 100 miles from Biden’s Warsaw location.
Biden’s fiery speech drew the line between democracy, oppression and violence, continually blaming Putin and accusing him of being dishonest.
Biden accused Putin, while speaking outdoors at the Royal Castle of Warsaw in cobbled courtyard, that was lit in colors from Ukraine and Poland, of using brute force to overthrow him.
Biden stated that ‘it’s nothing but a direct challenge to the rules-based international order’.
Biden also took cues from Arnold Schwarzenegger who made a viral video message for Russians, and addressed the Russian people directly.
“I tell you the truth. He said that this war was not right for the Russian people. Putin can and should end the war. We stand by you, the Ukrainian people who want peace and will support your efforts to end this war.
He also warned that Putin’s aggressive behavior could lead to ‘decades’ of war in Europe.
It is a direct threat to the existing order since World War II. And it could lead to the return of decades of conflict that decimated Europe prior to the establishment the international rule-based system. Biden stated that we cannot return to this.

President Joe Biden accused Vladimir Putin deceit in relation to Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

Biden spoke of his conversations with Putin prior to Russia’s invasion last month.
Putin said that’repeatedly, he stated he did not have any interest in war and had promised he wouldn’t move.
“Russia’s decision to go to war is not justified or provoked.
However, Russia and Putin met all of their proposals with disinterest. He stated that Russia had been bent on violence since the beginning.
The White House arranged a speech for Biden to speak about the stakes after days of diplomatic work and private meetings with Brussels and Warsaw powerbrokers. As the U.S. rushes to arm Ukraine, it was clear that Biden had mastered the art of speaking in large strokes.
Biden said the war has been ‘a strategic failure for Russia already’ – alluding to its battlefield losses.
Putin believed that Ukrainians would surrender and cease fighting. He is not a historian. In fact, Russian forces have defeated their opponents,’ he stated, making references to Pope John Paul, Stalingrad and Lech Walesa.

He said that ‘We must now commit to the fight for long-term,’ speaking on behalf of a country which has been trying to arm Ukraine and housing over 2 million refugees.

Biden attacked Putin previously, calling him war criminals and saying he didn’t possess a soul.
Earlier Saturday, he called Putin a ‘butcher’ after holding emotional conversations with Ukrainian refugees – including a pair who fled the horror of the siege at Mariupol.
‘He’s a butcher,’ Biden said when asked what he thought of Putin after what he has done to the people he was meeting.
As Russia bombarded Lviv in Ukraine, Biden was about 245 miles away from Warsaw. CNN reported that Russians attacked a fuel depot while Biden was preparing to address the nation about the war in Ukraine.
Biden spent nearly an hour meeting with a series of refugees during a visit to World Central Kitchen, which set up an outpost in Warsaw as part of its efforts to help feed millions of Ukrainian refugees in Ukraine itself and in countries that are taking them in.
As he spoke with refugees who had escaped fighting, he offered comforting words and hugs.
“To see those tiny children want just a hug. It’s all they want is to thank you. “It makes you feel so damn proud. They’re amazing, wonderful. Wonderful, Biden said to DailyMail.com, when asked how he felt about the impact of his visit.
“And you know that the Ukrainian people were here. Each one of those kids said something to effect, pray for my father, my grandfather or my brother. Biden added that “He’s back there fighting.”
“And, I recall what it was like for them to be in a war zone. Each morning, you wake up wondering what it’s like to be in a war zone. They’re an incredible group of people,” he stated, in reference to his deceased son Beau.
Biden did not have an answer to questions about how it was possible to obtain aid in Mariupol. This city is currently under constant bombardment. While the Obama administration has ruled out any U.S. military intervention on the ground (including U.S.-led troops), it is granting arms to Ukraine’s military, and also announcing $1 billion of humanitarian assistance.
Biden declared, “It is amazing.
Biden made comments on Russia’s claim to a new military position after a Kremlin defense representative announced that Russia had completed the first stage of its invasion and would now focus on the Donbas.
Asked what he thought of the change in Kremlin strategy – a question he avoided earlier in the day when meeting with Polish President Andrzej Duda – Biden responded: ‘I’m not sure they have.’

While wearing a Beau Biden baseball hat, the president spoke with several refugees via a translator.
One time, he grabbed a young girl dressed in pink and held onto her.
He reached out to hug another young lady and placed his arms around her shoulder. The translator asked him: “How would you pronounce Ukrainian? Who do those eyes belong to?” Your father? Or your mother? Which one had the eye? Victoria was the name he gave Victoria.
‘Mother’s eyes. He stated, “You owe mommy a lot,”
Ana Stryharchuk (a refugee) didn’t get the opportunity to speak with Biden, nor did she get the autograph that she desired. While she tried to see the president from the back, her mother was also there. Agents attempted to corral the photographers while aides attempted to prevent Polish agents blocking photos.
She claimed that she fled Kiev via car within two days of the invading troops’ arrival.
Biden’s words to her: “It’s very exciting, but I don’t see him at any time,” she stated.
She expressed her gratitude for the support she received from the United States.
Poland is the country that has suffered the most from the refugee crisis.
Some 3.5 Million people fled Ukraine. Nearly 2,000,000 are living in Poland. Poland has a border of nearly 300 miles with Ukraine.
Humanitarian organizations and NGOs around the world sent money, food and medical equipment in aid of what the United Nations calls the most severe humanitarian crisis since World War II.
Biden expressed gratitude to Andrzej Da, the Polish president for responding to the humanitarian crisis. He also pledged financial assistance from the United States.
‘We do acknowledge Poland has taken on a lot with all of the responsibility,’ Biden said in a meeting with Duda ahead of his visit to the refugee center.

While the U.S. continues to send money and supplies, they will be increasing their contributions. Biden declared $1 billion of additional assistance and stated that the U.S. will accept an additional 100,000 refugees.
