Former President Donald Trump mysteriously canceled his January 6 Mar-a-Lago press conference, sending out a statement Tuesday night that he would be discussing ‘those topics’ instead at his January 15 Arizona rally.
“In light of total biases and dishonesty of two failed Republicans (January 6th Unselect Committee of Democrats) and Fake News Media,” he said.
On the anniversary of Trump’s attack on the Capitol Building, the ex-president will be confronted by reporters at his Palm Beach resort. Meanwhile in Washington, President Joe Biden as well as Congressional leaders will pay solemn respects to the year-old anniversary of Trump’s MAGA mob assault on the Capitol Building.
Photographed on New Year’s Eve by Donald Trump. Trump mysteriously cancelled his Jan 6 Mar-a Lago press conference and sent out a Tuesday night statement stating that he will be discussing those topics’ at his rally in January 15.
Trump had planned to welcome reporters to his Mar-a-Lago resort Janaury 6th, which is the anniversary of the MAGA mob’s attack on the U.S. Capitol. He instead said Tuesday night, “those are the topics” at his rally in Arizona on January 15.
Axios reports Tuesday night, that Trump’s top allies, including GOP Senator Lindsey Graham (Fox News Channel host) Laura Ingraham, questioned the wisdom of holding a press conference to mark the occasion.
Graham said that Trump and he discussed the upcoming press conference while playing golf on the weekend.
Graham stated that he had told the former president, who raised the issue of the press conference, that there could be danger in holding a news conference. Focus on electoral reform.
Axios reported also that Republican Congressional leaders viewed Trump’s press conference as a political headache.
Ingraham asked Jim Banks (a Trump ally) a key question about whether it would be smart for Trump to hold a rally on a particular day, or next week.
Banks indicated that he is looking forward to the media conference.
Trump stated Tuesday that Trump had scratched the media event as it became’more obvious to ALL’ the fact that the LameStream Media would not report the facts.
Another false claim was made by the ex-president that Nancy Pelosi, House Speaker, and the Capitol Sergeant at Arms had denied requests from D.C. National Guard or the military to attend the Capitol on that particular day.
Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s spokeswoman, stated to USA Today last month she was unaware of any National Guard requests made by Pelosi prior to January 6. This is the day that lawmakers will meet to officially certify Biden’s election.
Hammill stated that Pelosi does not have the ability to refuse such requests.
Trump claimed that this was the Democrats’ Great Cover-Up Committee, and the media is complicit.
Trump also accuses Rep. Adam Schiff of being a Democratic member of the committee, and chairman of House Intelligence Committee. He was accused of altering a statement by Republican Rep. Jim Jordan who is a close Trump ally.
It had been previously stated that the graphic of Schiff’s text message to Jordan contained an inadvertent period.
‘Why will Crazy Nancy Pelosi not provide her communications with the House Sergeant-at-Arms and the House Chief Administrative Officer, or promise to retain these vital messages, which many feel she has already destroyed—perhaps illegally?’ Trump was also curious.
“Also, what is the primary reason people come to Washington D.C. for, other than the 2020 Presidential Election fraud? And why not make that the subject of the investigation of the Unselect Committee?” He continued. “This was indeed the Crime of the Century.”
Trump lost the 2020 election against Biden. However, he continues pushing the so called ‘big lie’ that Trump was robbed of another term because election fraud.
“I’m looking forward to meeting our Great American Patriots in Arizona next week for a huge rally to Save America!” Trump also added.
The January 15 rally, which coincides with civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, will take place in Florence, a small town outside of Phoenix.
On January 15, MLK family representatives will hold a rally in Phoenix calling for federal voting rights protections. These bills are not supported by Trump.
