University Challenge viewers were left reeling after last night’s episode of the quiz show which saw Oxford lost to Cambridge by a whopping 210 points. 

Yesterday’s BBC2 episode, hosted by Jeremy Paxman, saw Trinity Cambridge annihilate their competitors St Hilda’s College – at one point gaining a lead of 225 points to zero. 

But, Trinity gave an inaccurate answer, and the final score was 235 to Cambridge. Oxford won with only 45 points. 

Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to tease the team, with one joking that ‘Ofsted will be visiting St. Hilda’s tomorrow’ while others called the ‘brutal’ episode a ‘hammering’.

Yesterday’s University Challenge saw Trinity Cambridge destroy St Hilda’s College. They had at one time a lead over their rivals of 225 points. 

However after an incorrect answer from Trinity, the final scores tallied up at 235 to Cambridge while Oxford came away with just 45 points

Trinity college Cambridge shows no mercy to St Hilda’s in Oxford. One third added that the current 215-0 is being used.

Katrina Dionsio (London) was captaining St Hilda’s team. Katrina is a Philosophy Linguistics student Luca Chilvers of Colchester, Essex. Akshay Pal (Bolton), is studying Engineering. Chris Bennett is from Surrey and is studying Theology. 

Trinity’s win was not only impressive, but the student team of Trinity also proved to be a huge hit among viewers. They gained popularity during the August round of the quizshow and were embraced by many. 

After admitting that he didn’t know the question he was asking during the show, Navonil Neogi from Surrey Maths students, became a hit among viewers. 

Hatty innes, Ludvig Brecke and Luke Kim represented Trinity – Kim was another favorite thanks to his constant smile when answering questions.
