This is the terrifying moment a car narrowly misses a group of punters as it ploughs through a pub beer garden and causes more than £2,000 worth of damage.

At around 10.30pm Monday, the Hare and Hounds, Skelmersdale in Lancashire was where the crash occurred.

Video footage shows three men outside watching as a fast-moving car smashes through planters and benches.

Pub manager Andrea Lesbirel, 28, told Lancs Live it was a ‘miracle’ that no one was hurt during the collision.

According to her, the result could have been worse if the incident occurred during summertime, when there are usually many people in the beer garden.

After the pub owner posted on Facebook, the pub’s proprietor took to social media. 2 x Customized Planters Available for Sale Amazing prices

Ms. Lesbirel has been the manager of the park for three years. She said, “It’s usually filled with picnic benches in summer, all day, and night.

‘It is a miracle there was no casualties. There would be casualties if this had happened in summer.

“It is usually packed all day. It would have been very difficult to make it work if someone got hurt.

The crash did not result in any injuries to anyone who was present at the beer garden when it happened.

Lesbirel said the vehicle smashed through a metal bollard, two metal planters and three picnic benches before coming to a stop after hitting a further metal bollard.

The second bollard would not have been there, so she thinks the car might have damaged other cars parked in the street.

She said: ‘There was £2,000 worth of damage because the picnic benches are around £200 to £300 each and the planters were bespoke so they were made for the pub at about £500 each.

“They were very large and we have to replace them.”

The event has not affected venue hours. All was cleaned up overnight.

The pub's owner took to social media afterwards, posting on Facebook: '3 x picnic benches. 2 x bespoke planters for sale. Smashing prices'
