After trying to perform The Worm, a clubber was left with $3,000 in dental bills. She cracked her teeth in half and needed a root canal and crown.
Lucy Mallard, a Sydney-based clubber, was on the 4th of December, when she misjudged a well-known dance move, and broke her teeth.
When she went to the dentist, he told her the incident was the worst they had ever witnessed and that there was an exposed nerve.
The unfortunate incident when the 21-year old shook her head on the ground was captured by a video.
Lucy Mallard (21 years old) was in Sydney’s nightclub when she tried to dance The Worm.
Ms. Mallard got on to her hands and rubbed her stomach while she assumed the position of the worm.
She collapsed midway through and broke one of her front teeth.
Ms Mallard shared a photo of her damaged tooth via her TikTok account
Lucy is seen getting ready to perform her “party trick” as she creates a space around herself on the dance floor.
Lucy from Sydney executed the first two rolls flawlessly before misjudging the third roll and landing on the ground.
She is shocked and jumps from the ground to show her camera the half-cleared tooth. Lucy is an administrative worker and will need to wait until January 14th to receive a root canal. She also needs a crown. This procedure would have cost her about $3,000.
Lucy sent the TikTok video on December 13th, and wrote: “Don’t attempt this at home.”
Unsurprisingly, social media users responded quickly to the video that was viewed over 3 million times. It received 328,000 Likes and more than 3,000 Comments.
Shak Bergmann declared: “I’d run home crying.” Liv Gx responded: ‘I did it and chipped me my jaw.
Gia Vincifora stated that she chipped her front tooth during prom night. Do not feel ashamed, you are still gorgeous.
Lauren Hughes stated, “I did that and broke my jaw.”
Holly Janet commented, “This evening got costly.” Katherine Lewis replied: “Oh no, I wouldn’t die.”
TikTok users sympathized with Ms Mallard.
Lucy spoke today, stating that it was supposed to have been a girls’ night which started in Sydney.
“The dance floor was full and there was some movement with people coming in and going out.
“I tried to convince my friend that she should go to the centre to get the worm.
“She refused so I told her I would, and she agreed. It’s my favorite party trick. The first worm was fine, and the second was okay. But the third worm I sent was complete. It knocked out my tooth.
“My friend made everybody move to the side and instructed them to go look for the tooth. We were able to locate it and place it in a pocket.
“Meanwhile I was being checked by the club owner, all I could think was “let’s dance.”
“The dentist said it was their worst experience with trauma that they have ever seen.
“It was an open nerve with a cracked tooth adjacent to it.
“They put on a temporary filling until Christmas, and then they will tackle the tooth with crowns and root canals.
