The animal holds up traffic, which is forced to wait behind the lorry as it takes the hay

Traffic is unable to pass the animal, so it must wait in the back of the truck while it gets the hay.

A farmer in the Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Ratchasima province, central Thailand was helpless when an elephant stole hay from his truck.

When he suspects that something isn’t quite right, the driver stops the car and the enormous creature quickly grabs a bale.

The animal then kicks the piece apart and throws bits over its back, before eating some.

The male elephant is enjoying its meal, and the truck driver follows him, causing a steady stream of cars to follow.

Kanchit Srinoppawan, Park boss, said that he asked an employee for help in buying hay so that he could mark the course of a marathon to be held in the region.

He stated that he was amazed at the timing of the elephant waiting by the road.
