What does a huntsman Spider look like?

Huntsman Spiders are long-legged, large spiders. They can be found mostly in grey or brown with sometimes banded legs.

Australia’s most famous huntsman, the banded hunting man is among them.

You will find them in eastern Australia’s warmer regions, which range from NSW and Queensland.

They can be found under bark from trees or in cracks in rock walls, logs, rocks, slabs or bark, as well as under leaves.

Houses are often invaded by huntsman spiders from many different species. These spiders are notorious for entering vehicles, hiding behind sunvisors and running along the dashboard.

This spider is extremely fast and has the ability to squeeze through very small crevices and turn sideways.

It is best to avoid direct handling. While these spiders don’t pose a danger to humans and are relatively timid, the adults can be quite painful due to their fangs.

You can easily transfer the items into a container or jar if you have to.
