The viral video of a live turkey watching its Thanksgiving dinner preparation has caused a lot of debate among viewers. Some have called it “pure evil”.

Since its posting on Thursday November 25, the clip has been shared by @our10acres on TikTok and received over 40 million views.

It shows a turkey looking at the one being cooked in the oven before looking up towards the camera.

Many commenters shared their opinions. Some claimed that the animal did not know the species of the food he was eating, while others stated that it was pure evil to allow him to see this.

Someone wrote: “That’s wrong,” and another person added, “THE HORROR.”

Following a lot backlash, the creator of the post explained that Big Red the bird was not traumatized. He was just mad that he couldn’t eat the turkey cooked.

“Just to add, Big Red wasn’t traumatized. She wrote that he was so mad she wouldn’t allow him to eat the food.

One viewer replied, “Chickens will eat each other and themselves if they are allowed to,”

After receiving a lot of backlash for the post, the creator explained that the bird, who is named Big Red, was not traumatized - but instead, he was mad he couldn't eat the cooked turkey
