The smoke from the enormous building caused the evacuation of staff members at the facility. 

Leicester Fire and Rescue sent nine teams from different fire stations to fight the flames.

After receiving information that the roof of the Walkers Crisps factory had caught on fire, Leicestershire Fire and Rescue sent nine firefighters to assist.

After reports of a fire at Walkers Crisps in Leicester, the factory was evacuated 

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue deployed nine units to the scene after the alert was raised at 10.45am

After the alarm was raised at 10.45am, nine fire engines from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the area.

The fire was discovered by officers who used special equipment to put out the flames. 

Leicestershire Live reports that the alert was issued just before 10:45am.  

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue said: “We were called by the site to report that the factory is filling with smoke and that the roof may be on fire.”
