Joshua Malina from Scandal has called upon Hollywood to cancel Mel Gibson. He attacked the actor as a “well-known Jew hater” in a strong-worded editorial Thursday

Former West Wing star Joshua Malina has called on Hollywood to ‘cancel Mel Gibson,’ slamming the actor as a ‘well-known Jew-hater’ in a pull-no-punches essay for the Atlantic.

Malina, who was an actor in political dramas, expelled Warner Bros. from directing the fifth installment.

‘Gibson is a well-known Jew-hater,’ Malina wrote in the essay, published Thursday, saying that the term ‘anti-Semite is too mild’ to describe the actor,  who has been embroiled in scandals involving anti-Semitism, racism and domestic abuse during his career.

Malina (55), declared that ‘His prejudices are well-documented’.

“So, I have a question: what can a guy do to make it on Hollywood’s no fly list?” He added, “So my question is, what does a guy have to do these days?'”

‘I’m a character actor. I’m a character actor. I can’t thank you enough for Mel Gibson’s work.

Gibson, who was the lead in four of the Lethal Weapons movies after Richard Donner’s death, was brought back as the director for the new film.

Dan Lin from Rideback Studios will produce the film. Rideback’s Jonathan Eirich and The Donners’ Company’s Derek Hoffman are the executive producers. Nearly $1 billion was made by the first four films.

“How could this man become such a big ticket? Is it just that memories of his hate speech have faded, while Hollywood’s recollection of his box-office pull remains?’ Malina posed the question.

Then he criticised Warner Bros., which was started by four unschooled Jewish immigrants during the 1920s. He said that it seemed to be backing the film.

In 2016, the actor was heard in a leaked recording saying anti-Semitic remarks during a 2006 DUI arrest - an instance Malina referred to in his opinion piece

“How is Warner Bros. (a firm founded by Jews) able to consider employing this man again?” He had written before, citing the diversity policy of Warner Bros. (a company founded by Jews) on their website.

Malina acknowledged that Gibson was a talented man, but pointed out that many terrible people create wonderful art.

Gibson has appeared in many Hollywood films, including Braveheart for which he was awarded an Academy Award as best Director and Mad Max.

He was criticized for his religious zealotry after directing Passion of the Christ in 2004, but his career has been rife with controversy over the past  decade, with many of the instances stemming from remarks deemed anti-Semitic.

Winona Ryder (a Jewish actress) revealed last year that Winona, an Australian-born actor, once asked her at party if she was an “oven dodger”, referring to the horrors endured at the concentration camps during World War II.

Gibson denied the comment.

Gibson, who was taken into custody following his arrest, appeared on Variety’s ‘Playback’ podcast, where he addressed the issue, calling it ‘unfortunate’.

Gibson claimed that she was loaded, angry, and then arrested. Gibson said that he was unlawfully recorded by an incompetent police officer and was not prosecuted. He made the recording illegally for his profit. Then it was published by members of, we’ll just call it the media. This is not fair.

Actor added that he was not permitted to experience a panic attack because of who he is.

Malina took aim at Gibson’s salute to former President Donald Trump during a UFC Las Vegas event this year. Malina wrote that Gibson was accused of saying’sexist words and yelled racism slurs’ and liberal Hollywood should have had enough reason to terminate Gibson’s contract.

“But his antisemitism was more constant, open-minded, and more serious.”

Malina pointed out the 2010 voicemails that Gibson made to Oksana, his then-girlfriend, in which Gibson was heard using misogynistic and racist language. She also mentioned Gibson’s subsequent ‘no contest’ plea to domestic battery charges.

The actor admitted that his article could have a negative impact on his career. This was especially true with Warner Bros. which produced The West Wing.

He said, “But if it’s the end, then so be.” “I had a good career baruch Hashem.

Then he added, “It would have been great if more high-profile executives and producers would take a stand.”

“Then, I would believe in the cancel culture that I have been reading about so much.” And, I can also believe Jews actually count.
