In a TikTok video that now has over 2.1 million views, Badesim Kubak, who is living in New York, explained how she was left with severe burns after a beautician spilled hot wax all over her legs
She began the clip by writing: “Me at 15 going to have my legs waxed for a concert.”
“I’m going to wax my legs. It’s hard but worth it.
“While she is waxing my inner legs, the lid on the applicator falls off. The boiling wax then spills over my legs.
Badesim, who revealed it had missed her vagina by just a few centimeters, recalled the moment she began screaming and crying in excruciating pain.
Badesim (pictured at left and right) revealed the extent of her burns, and claimed that the technician had told her it wasn’t a big deal.
Badesim, rather than comforting her, said that she had been accused by the waxing tech of making a big deal of it. He then reassured her everything was okay.
The 15-year old did not want to create trouble and she obliged. She tried to remain silent, but the pain was too much.
She continued, “She takes the wax off of me to keep it from burning my skin, and tells me that it’s nothing.”
“She uses MOISTURISER AND PAPER TOWELS on my burned skin and says she is finished. It is so embarrassing that I was heard crying and screaming by everyone in the salon.
Because she thought she wasn’t smart enough, she paid the full cost of the treatment and returned to school. The staff nurse assisted her as much as she could.
However, it didn’t take long before Badesim realised the situation hadn’t improved.
“Next morning, I wake up in severe pain and my leg is still wrapped,” she said. “My aunt, who is a plastic surgery surgeon, took me to the uncle to have it checked out.
After the bandages had been removed, the extent of the injury could be seen.
Badesim was just 15 when the accident occurred. She explained that the technician had shaved her legs with hot wax after she spilled it.
The video’s commenters were furious at Badesim, and they criticized the waxing technician because of her lack of professionalism.
She must be stripped of her licensure as an esthetician. That is unacceptable,’ raged one, while a second penned: ‘God, I’d be furious. You could have saved yourself pain and suffering by asking her to immediately acknowledge it so that you could properly cool it and take care of it.
The injury was speculated by a third party, who said: “That’s a second degree burn. It got deep enough that it affected the nerves.
Other people sympathized with the salon disasters and shared similar stories.

“My uncle was shocked that I did not pass out from the pain, but she kept saying that it was because I made a big deal about it. So I just took it all in.

Badesim, (pictured), revealed in a video follow-up the answer to many frequently asked questions about her injury
Responding to questions about whether she sued, Badesim explained: ‘My family asked me if I wanted to sue and they said they would respect my decision and me being 15, I feel like I was very naïve.
“I knew the lady waxing me was a mother to a child and didn’t want her daughter suffering because of her mom’s failures.”
“But, now that I look back on it, that is not how it works. And I should have sued. She did not burn me, but she made a girl of 15 feel guilty about her pain and big deal.
Badesim said that there’s very little scarring now on her leg – and you only need to look close.
Additionally, she shared that two months after the closing of her salon, she found it closed again. However, this was not something she ever discovered.
She answered a frequently asked question regarding why Turkish men don’t shave.
“But, I cannot shave right now because of my past experience.
