A new non-invasive IPL treatment that clears pigmentation in women has been raved about by many. It takes just 20 minutes and can be done within nine weeks.

Lisa Cruess, 33, from London, who suffered from hyperpigmentation and sun damage, opted for Lumecca – a 20-minute strong IPL treatment which targets sun damage, freckles, hyper pigmentation, age spots, thread veins and rosacea – to get her skin in its best possible condition for her first post-Covid wedding.

Leah (28-years old from London) tried the treatment. After three sessions, she saw a significant improvement in her skin texture.

Susan, who runs SV Aesthetics, based in London, and performs the treatment on numerous clients for £200 a session, shares the pictures of the transformations on her Instagram page.

Lisa Cruess from London aged 33 had received three Lumecca treatments. Pictures taken before and after the treatment. Nine weeks separated, the photographs were taken.

Lumecca doesn’t require any downtime, and you can put on makeup immediately afterward.

Lisa who attended three sessions explained that she had always been affected by hyperpigmentation, sun damage, and summer hormone changes.

“No matter how many products I tried to improve my skin, nothing made it better and it was difficult for me to conceal the pigmentation using make-up,” she stated. Lumecca was the right treatment for me because it allowed me to attend my first wedding since lockdown.

“I wanted to also be able go makeup free every day since I started working at home, but because of my skin’s uneven tone, never felt confident without it.

Lisa went on to say that while Susan’s great before and after photos for the new Lumecca treatment ‘looked great,’ she didn’t expect the ‘fantastic results’ she received in just three treatments.

She said that after just 10 days, there had been a noticeable reduction in pigmentation, especially on my forehead. Susan suggested that three additional treatments be done to finish the treatment. I was left feeling like my skin is brighter and more clear.

“These amazing results are possible if I take care in the sunlight and use a high SPF.

“I can see the changes in my skin now, even though I look back at older photos. It’s amazing. And it’s a constant battle to conceal the imperfections with makeup.

Lisa claims that she can now wear natural, light-colored make up after the Lumecca treatment.

She added that she now feels confident wearing no makeup. “My close friends and relatives noticed an improvement in my skin, and how confidence I felt about myself. My skin has been a major concern of mine for several years.

Laura had been feeling self-conscious about her full face of freckles for some time

She said that following each treatment, the freckles initially appeared darker before then seeming to disappear after about day 10

She explained that she has struggled with her skin for years and tried numerous things to get it under control. “During lockdown, I was able to finally get into a consistent skincare regimen but have never been able treat my thread veins or rosacea.

Leah discovered SV Aesthetics and the Lumecca IPL through social media and thought her results were ‘great’ and ‘quicker’ than other laser treatments she’d previously researched.

“I am so happy with the results. Not only have the thread veins and redness cleared up, but my skin texture is much improved, oiliness has reduced, and pigmentation has faded,” she said.

“Looking back at my before photo makes me sad that Lumecca wasn’t discovered sooner. Anyone suffering from rosacea and thread veins should try this. It was very painless, but I was nervous.

Shauna McCarthy (30) from London had 2 sessions following sunbed usage that left her feeling tired.

“My skin pigmentation has been steadily getting worse since I was younger from sunbeds, so I noticed it making me appear tired, as well as leaving me with uneven skin tones.” The only treatment that would remove all years of sun damage was not what I expected. The results after just one treatment were astonishing.

“It brought the entire pigment to the surface, so it appears worse before it begins to fade. But once I had both, my skin clarity is much improved. It has really improved my skin’s complexion. I wish it had happened sooner.

Pain-free treatment meant that I was able to continue my day as normal. The reddening of the skin disappeared quickly. You will be glad you did.

Laura McGinty, 31, from London, also had two sessions after feeling self-conscious about her full face of freckles for some time.

“I did some research and found Susan Vaughan’s clinic in Marble Arch that offered Lumecca laser treatments. I decided to try it,” she said. “My freckles are gone!”

Susan explained that during every appointment she used a gel on her face, then applied the laser to twice more of her face. Susan also wore glasses to protect her eyes from bright sunlight.

She said that while the laser zap did occasionally feel uncomfortable for a few seconds, the overall treatment was painless and quick. “I experienced no redness, soreness, or downtime after treatment.

“Freckles first appeared darker, then they disappeared after 10 days.” She said.

“Results were evident after the first session, but very impressive after the second. The results were amazing.

Lumecca: What does it do?

Susan Vaughan of SV aesthetics explains what the treatment does:

‘Thankfully UV protection is much more encouraged now then it was in the past but sometimes pigmentation and vascular lesions can be hereditary – this is where the Lumecca comes in.

The treatment helps to heal any damage in the skin that has developed over time, or passed on by your family.

Lumecca has the most powerful IPL light available. Lumecca can reduce the appearance of sun damage, age spots and freckles in as little as 1-3 sessions. You will have a better complexion.

“Lumecca” also promotes new collagen and elastin formation by absorbing warm light into the skin. This adds an extra benefit to an already amazing treatment.

These skin conditions can be helped by IPL other devices that take on average 5-6 sessions.

‘Lumecca can be used on all areas of the face and body – the most popular being face, chest, arms, shoulders, hands and legs.

However, the IPL can only be used with Fitzpatrick skin types 1, and 2. The IPL isn’t suitable for dark skin because it may not pick up pigmentation as well.

A full-face Lumecca treatment can take around 15-20 minutes. The treatment does not require any downtime so you can immediately apply makeup. This treatment is great to use while on your lunch break.

Protect your skin for 3 weeks after the treatment with ‘SPF. Lumecca for any area of the face or body is £200 per session.

The pigments in your skin will begin to break down over the next few weeks. Small broken capillaries can then be cauterized and disappear.

The gel is then applied to the affected area. The handpiece is then applied to the area and worked in tiny sections. The intense pulsed light travels into the skin and we trigger it. This light seeks out brown and red pigments on the skin. This light breaks down these pigments in the skin.

No numbing cream is needed for this treatment because it is very quick – each trigger of the light feels like a warm flick on the skin.

Lumecca’s handpiece is equipped with a sapphire cooling tip. This helps to ensure that clients are comfortable during treatment.
