Journey corporations are braced for a ‘sucker punch’ as staff at Heathrow threaten to strike throughout subsequent month’s college holidays. 

Greater than 400 staff of airport providers firm Menzies are being balloted for strike motion.

Unite basic secretary Sharon Graham mentioned employees are struggling after ‘a two yr pay freeze’ and value of dwelling rises – and now want a pay rise. 

The employees present two providers – dealing with baggage for airways together with Lufthansa and Aer Lingus; and refuelling planes for British Airways. 

The ballot will shut on January 27 and potential industrial motion may happen in mid-February. SkiYodl boss Oli Dannatt mentioned: ‘It might be an enormous headache for households who’ve already needed to cope with sufficient disruption from altering journey restrictions.’ 

He added that it’s ‘one other sucker punch for the ski trade’. 

Menzies mentioned it hopes to realize an ‘amicable decision’.

Commercial
