It’s just beautiful, she replies, trying to wipe her weeping with a tissue.
The Etchmiadzin Cathedral, which is often considered the oldest cathedral in the world, was originally built in the early fourth century by Armenia’s patron saint, Gregory the Illuminator.
It has been broken down and restored numerous times over the centuries, and is still considered the main shrine for Armenian Christians.
In 2000, it was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
